  Good morning Band Families,  WOW what a weekend! I hope you and your kids feel so proud about this past weekend and the performance they had at Boca. The kids had a great show, judges were so complimentary and constructive, the costumes and props look fantastic, and more. This was an incredible first show (a 1st place win, Best Music, Visual, GE, and Guard did not hurt either!!!) and we are over the moon.  The work does not stop here, though. We have a big competition to look forward to this week, and a MODIFIED rehearsal schedule due to Yom Kippur (G'mar Chatima Tovah to those who observe).  Please read ALL information below, as many important and crucial details are addressed in the itinerary (and the FAQ page). Good morning band families! It's an exciting week ahead of us - first competition week! This week looks strange for our rehearsals, since there are NO sectionals or rehearsals Monday and Tuesday. We really stress (heavily) the importance of the rehearsals on Thursday and Friday to best set us up for success going into the Boca Comp. I tell our kids a lot that "practice to learn your part, rehearsal is to learn how other people's parts go with yours."  It is IMPERATIVE that our kids (and us) are thinking in 'team sport' mentality over individual interests this week, and in general.  Attached are several documents, please pursue and take note of the details.   Good afternoon Band Families,  It is Homecoming Game week!! Due to Hoco festivities, we will be performing our show Post-Game on Thursday! I know that many of y'all would love to support our performance (these kids thrive off enthusiasm!) but just a gentle reminder that if you would like to watch our post-game show, you need to be in the stadium before Halftime! Patrons will not be let into the stadium after the start of the 3rd quarter. We will also be in uniform for the first time! Please see below for information regarding uniform supplies that the kids will need.  Looking ahead, I have attached our first marching band competition itinerary to this email. The first comp will be at Boca Raton HS on Saturday, September 27. We have some changes to our rehearsal schedule this week, but this will also fortify our statement of "the kids need to use their time wisely and get their school work done!"
