PV Band Weekly Update: 9.7-9.13

 Good afternoon band families, 

I hope you have all had a great week! We have some changes to our rehearsal schedule this week, but this will also fortify our statement of "the kids need to use their time wisely and get their school work done!" We are CANCELING Marching Band rehearsal on Tuesday due to Open House; instead of making them rehearse from 3-5, we figured we would give them time back since we have our FINAL scheduled 9-9 for the season on Saturday. 

Please read the contents of the email below, and as always, please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. 

Week at a Glance:
Monday, September 8 -- Color Guard and Percussion rehearsal, 4pm-8pm
Tuesday, September 9 -- NO MB rehearsal (students may host optional sectionals if they desire, but this must be cleared with the directors)
Tuesday, September 9 -- Open House - PVHS (Drumline is playing at Open House. They must be at PVHS parked in the Media Center lot by 5pm. They play 5:30-6, and are then dismissed)
Thursday, September 11 -- Full Marching Band rehearsal, 4pm-8pm
Saturday, September 13 -- Full Marching Band rehearsal, 9am-9pm
Saturday, September 13 -- Senior Sash Workshop, 7pm-9pm

Dinner orders for Saturday's practice:
To order dinner for Saturday's practice, fill out this Google form by Thursday at midnight and put CASH in an envelope marked with your child's name in the band safe by Friday morning. https://forms.gle/riBh4hPTwrDsgVqq7.

Band Hoodies:
Tis the season! If you would like to purchase a Band Hoodie, please see the order form attached to this email. Money should be turned into the band safe along with the order form BEFORE September 18. 

Volunteering:
Please check CutTIme to see how you can help out with Saturday's practice and other upcoming events.
Fundraising opportunities are also available to sell concessions at the JV and Freshman football games on September 10th and 17th. This money goes DIRECTLY to your fair shares as well! 

Senior Sash Workshop:
Come out and help assemble our senior sashes from 7pm-9pm on Saturday the 13th. No experience is necessary - we will be meeting in the Chorus room, if you have an iron bring it along. Please reach out to Beth if you have any questions: president@parkvistaband.com

  Good morning Band Families,  WOW what a weekend! I hope you and your kids feel so proud about this past weekend and the performance they had at Boca. The kids had a great show, judges were so complimentary and constructive, the costumes and props look fantastic, and more. This was an incredible first show (a 1st place win, Best Music, Visual, GE, and Guard did not hurt either!!!) and we are over the moon.  The work does not stop here, though. PV Band Weekly Update: 10.26-11.01

  Good afternoon Band Families, Thank YOU for everything yesterday and this whole week! Directors, judges, and schools were nothing but complimentary for the way we host shows. They loved our respectfulness, our helpfulness, and how prepared we were, even with our weather situation at the end. Your kids also did a FANTASTIC job, and were the "talk of the town" in the way they conducted themselves.  That being said - we do need to wrap up some invitational items (air out tents, reorganize the connex, etc) so please see CutTime later today to volunteer tomorrow for Invitational cleanup.  It really does take a whole village to run this event, and we are PROUD to have y'all, our alumni, and our future representing us in such a positive manner.  We are hitting our final 2 weeks. PV Band Weekly Update: 9.21-9.27

Good morning band families! It's an exciting week ahead of us - first competition week! This week looks strange for our rehearsals, since there are NO sectionals or rehearsals Monday and Tuesday. We really stress (heavily) the importance of the rehearsals on Thursday and Friday to best set us up for success going into the Boca Comp. I tell our kids a lot that "practice to learn your part, rehearsal is to learn how other people's parts go with yours."  It is IMPERATIVE that our kids (and us) are thinking in 'team sport' mentality over individual interests this week, and in general.  Attached are several documents, please pursue and take note of the details.
