PV Band Weekly Update: 9.28-10.4

 Good morning Band Families,

WOW what a weekend! I hope you and your kids feel so proud about this past weekend and the performance they had at Boca. The kids had a great show, judges were so complimentary and constructive, the costumes and props look fantastic, and more. This was an incredible first show (a 1st place win, Best Music, Visual, GE, and Guard did not hurt either!!!) and we are over the moon.
The work does not stop here, though. We have a big competition to look forward to this week, and a MODIFIED rehearsal schedule due to Yom Kippur (G'mar Chatima Tovah to those who observe).

Please read ALL information below, as many important and crucial details are addressed in the itinerary (and the FAQ page). As always, please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns; happy to help in any way!

This will be a great week with 8th grade night and our first time attending the Merritt Island comp. The work does not stop here; I told the kids last night that "consistency breeds confidence" and we have to continually build up from here!!

Week at a Glance:
Monday, September 29 -- Full Marching Band Rehearsal, 4pm-8pm
Tuesday, September 30 -- Full Marching Band Rehearsal, 4pm-8pm

Friday's Football Game:
Please check CutTime for volunteer opportunities to chaperone and sell concessions at the football game. Tickets to the game are available on GoFan here.

Dinner for the football game will be (2) slices of pizza with a drink. If you are interested, please have your child put an envelope with $5 in the safe with their name and Football Dinner on it with the date by WEDNESDAY.

This game is 8th Grade Night -- there will be 8th graders playing stand tunes with the band. Let's give them a warm welcome!

Competition at Merritt Island High School:
See the attached itinerary for the day's event. Please see CutTime for volunteer/chaperone needs. Help with loading trucks after the morning practice and unloading them in the evening is always appreciated to make the task go as quickly and easily as possible.

There will be a stop at Chick-fil-A to fuel the kids up on the way to the competition. To make sure everyone has time to eat, all food must be preordered using this Google form https://forms.gle/AjCTftciy6262g5m6. Orders forms and payment are due on WEDNESDAY.

This is the band's first time competing in Merritt Island. It's farther away but the more spectators who come out the better!! If you have a show shirt, wear it and show your Park Vista parents can find each other.

Event details:
Location: 100 Mustang Way, Merritt Island, FL 32953
Tickets are $15 for adults, $5 for children. Kids 4 and under are free.

Fair Share:
The third fair share payment of $400 is due on WEDNESDAY. Please submit payment with a check put in the band safe OR by using School Cash Online. If you do not see the payment option in School Cash Online or have any questions about fair share, please reach out to Cheryl Phillips at treasurer@parkvistaband.com. Please stay up to date with your payments -- they are critical to keep the program running all season long.
