PV Band Weekly Update: 9.14-9.20

 Good afternoon Band Families,

It is Homecoming Game week!! Due to Hoco festivities, we will be performing our show Post-Game on Thursday! I know that many of y'all would love to support our performance (these kids thrive off enthusiasm!) but just a gentle reminder that if you would like to watch our post-game show, you need to be in the stadium before Halftime! Patrons will not be let into the stadium after the start of the 3rd quarter. We will also be in uniform for the first time! Please see below for information regarding uniform supplies that the kids will need.

Looking ahead, I have attached our first marching band competition itinerary to this email. The first comp will be at Boca Raton HS on Saturday, September 27. There are many details that we will share with the kids and y'all in the coming weeks, but this is a high-level itinerary so we know what to expect on that day.

As always, please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns; happy to help in any way!

Week at a Glance:
Monday, September 15 -- Full Marching Band Rehearsal, 4pm-8pm
Tuesday, September 16 -- Full Marching Band Rehearsal, 4pm-8pm
Thursday, September 18 -- Home Football Game, 6:30pm
Saturday, September 20 -- All State Auditions at Emerald Cove MS

Thursday's Football Game:
Please check CutTime for volunteer opportunities to chaperone and sell concessions at the football game. Tickets to the game are available on GoFan here.

Dinner for the football game will be (2) slices of pizza with a drink. If you are interested, please have your child put an envelope with $5 in the safe with their name and Football Dinner on it with the date by WEDNESDAY.

Important -- Permission Slips:
Many people do not have the last 2 permission slips turned in - Jupiter and FIU. A student cannot go on the field trip without a completed form. We cannot accept verbal consent. This is per School District policy. No field trip form, no trip, no exceptions.

Fair Share Payments:
Please be sure you are looking in CutTime to ensure you are up to date on payments. If not, please submit them either with a check put in the band safe OR by using School Cash Online (SCO). If you do not see the payment option in School Cash Online please reach out to Cheryl Phillips at treasurer@parkvistaband.com. A few members are new and the option on SCO will be available sometime next week. When a payment has been made on SCO, you can email the receipt to the same email for quicker processing in CutTime. Looking ahead, remember that the third fair share payment of $400 is due on October 1.

Show Shirts:
Pre-orders for show shirts are now closed. They will available in the next week or two, in time to wear at the first competition in Boca! Stay tuned for messages about distribution dates and times. If you didn't pre-order a shirt, there will be a small number of extras available on a first come first serve basis.

Band Hoodies:
Order forms and money are due on Sep 18 for the band hoodies! See attached for the form.

Uniforms:
All band members must wear BLACK compression shirt, shorts, and socks every time they wear their uniforms. If you do not have these yet, please get them soon. We recommend these or similar:
Womens: Shirt Shorts
Mens: Shirt Shorts
Unisex: Socks

As we start performing with uniforms on Thursday, here is the checklist of what the kids will need every game and show day from now on:
- Compression clothes
- TALL black socks (longer than ankle length, no logos)
- Band shoes (most people have gotten them, we will get everyone their shoes before Thurs)
- Show makeup/hair supplies (hair MUST be neatly pulled back in braids or a bun to go into the band hats called Shakos)
- Show top/gameday top and band pants (known as "bibbers")
- Black gloves (PV Band provides, you do not have to buy them)
