PVHS Band Announcements

Vet Parents, I know you have all been waiting to hear what is going on with Charm/CutTime.  We informed you a few weeks ago that Charms was acquired by CutTime and that we would be switching over to their platform. Ms. Murthy has informed me that for the 2023-2024 school year, we will continue to use the Charms platform. That being said, she will be resetting the system in the next couple of days with the intention to have it up and ready for us to use after the 8/2 meeting.  Existing financial information within the system will be downloaded to be uploaded back into the system after the reset (FYI, this has been done every year we have used Charms). For your own records, I would log into Charms and capture screenshots of your current financials just as a personal backup.  Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. To All: Tonight, The Park Vista Parent Association has launched the Parent HUB  !!! HUGE Thanks to Eric Mason  - he has put in a lot of work into this. The purpose of the Parent HUB :   A central location for parents of the marching band performers to easily find information pertaining to the marching band.  You will no longer need to go digging in your email to find the one announcement about an event.....just go to the Parent HUB !!! Have no idea what your performer is talking about when they start using terms and acronyms? It's probably on the Parent HUB !!!.  If it's not there, please let us know  As we obtain more information, it will be added.  One last thing, don't forget to respond to the Friends and Family Survey so we can get an estimated guest count to ensure adequate food and beverage supply.   Good Morning Band Family and Happy Monday! We have some volunteer slots we can still use more parent help.  In particular, if any parents are available this morning, we have vacancies for fruit cutting and currently 100% vacancy for fruit serving.  If any parent/parents are available to sign up and come to the school  this morning/Monday for cutting at 9 am and serving at 10:30 for the student's fruit break snack.   Good evening, First of all, I want to thank you all for sharing your kids with us during this 1st week of the July  Band  Camp. It was definitely a scorcher out there.  As we move forward with all that is needed for this year's marching season we "tried" to simplify things with the use of Aktivate. Unfortunately, it made things a lot more complicated and that is not what we wanted to do. While we appreciate your efforts to get through the process, we are just going to collect the forms in person as we have in the past.  To facilitate this, there are a couple of baskets in the  band  room behind the podium. Please have the kids deposit the forms into the baskets. They will all be sorted and cataloged.  Thank you again for your patience and understanding. Dear  Band  Family, Attached is this week's communications.  We will, of course, reach out with updates and last minute information as needed. Let us know if you have any questions and we will have them answered as soon as we are able to. Immediate notes:   1) Many performers are showing up to camp unprepared.  Performers MUST have their water jugs/water bottles, lunch, towels, sunglasses, hats, sunscreen, binders, pencils and index cards.  Supplies are JUST as important as health needs. We have a minimal amount of volunteers that are around to pick up the pieces BUT that takes them away from what they signed up to do and fall behind on the assignments called for. Please ensure your children have what they need. 2) The call for volunteers will be year round.  It truly takes a village, in our case an army, to keep this program running smoothly and successful.  Please donate when you can, pay your dues and volunteer as your extra time...

Dear   Band   Family, The football program is now available as a means to fundraise for your performer and starts...NOW! This program features football, cheer and  band  students and is sold at all home games. Selling ads for the program is a great way to raise money for your fair share and, if needed, London payments.   Please read the Cover Letter attachment (along with the others) very carefully for further details and instructions. Hello Band Family! 1) An email went out yesterday and it was brought to our attention that the time posted for band camp this week was incorrect. Please note that band camp starts at 8am, NOT 9am, tomorrow through Friday. 2) To serve as another reminder, please ensure students are prepared with the following: Binder Pencil(s) Index Cards (on a ring) Towel Refillable water jug LUNCH with lots of snacks   3) We also have additional volunteer needs/donation requests for the entire week. Thank you to the parents that have signed up so far for fruit donations, fruit cutting or serving, and the cool cloths help. We do unfortunately have some gaps in the help we need starting for Band Camp that begins this week on Tuesday 7/18 9am-5pm. Please check through the options that work for your schedule.  For the first 2 weeks of band camp fruit cutters are needed in the mornings.  On 7/28 there is a lunch time need for help to make a BBQ for the kids possible.  Also, the 3rd week of camp for the 5pm-9m days fruit cutting and serving will be in the evenings if that fits in your schedule better. Cool Cloth helping can definitely be doable after work hours so this is a very flexible way to step up and help too.  Please help out in any way you can! Good afternoon  band  families, Happy July! Big email ahead, please read! :)  First things first  -  band  camp starts July 18 at 8AM! Please get your students prepared NOW by having them go outside and (at least) walk around for 30 minutes a day, it takes a while to acclimate and we want our students to be healthy and prepared for day one.  Remember the  band  camp schedule: July 18-21, 24-28: 8-5 AND July 31-Aug 4 5-9PM. We will have a final summer rehearsal and Potluck on Aug 7 from 3-7PM.  What they will need:  Same things as June camp, but this time they will need that ring of index cards and black binder with a pencil. Our leaders will be doing binder/card checks on day one.  Second : Attached is the MB Handbook and payment schedule for the Fair Share.
