Volunteer Needs for Band Camp

Good evening Band Families,

We hope you and your children are getting excited for band camp. There will be lots of ways for the parents to get involved and help for band camp these next few weeks.  Below you will see some descriptions of what you can do.  And here is the link below.  Feel free to save the link by bookmarking in your browser or add it to the home screen of your phone for quick access.

There are needs for fruit donations-grapes, cuties/mandarins, and watermelon and granola bars if you are looking to donate goods.  We have several volunteer spots for during the day for cutting/prep and serving fruit during specific shifts.

On the 8-5 days fruit will be served at 10:30 to the kids. The current plan is to offer the granola bars for a 3 pm snack break so please keep the donations of the granola bars streaming in throughout band camp (  they should need volunteers for this as they can pull out boxes of the granola bars from the band room when needed to pass out).  Then on the 5-9 days we are planning a fruit break at 7 pm so we have parent volunteer requests set accordingly.

We also have volunteer requests for the 7/28 BBQ to grill and serve food (so then FYI to parents, your kids will not need to pack lunch that day!! Yay!)

Lastly, we are looking for parents to help with cool cloths.  For those that are not familiar, cool cloths are wash cloth sized cloths that are placed in a cooler of ice water to keep our kids cool and healthy.  The parent responsibility will be to pick up the cloths the day before the assigned day and launder them in hypoallergenic/fragrance free/dye free soap such as seventh generation, or a free and clear version or similar, then  return them in the cooler with ice water.  Currently we have 2 coolers for band, and 1 cooler for guard (we have parents that are already managing the guard cloths for now).

It's going to be a great week!

Sincerely,

Amy Krostich
Membership Chairperson/Volunteer Coordinator
