PVHS Marching Band Weekly Summary/Communications

Dear Band Family,

Attached is this week's communications.  We will, of course, reach out with updates and last minute information as needed.

Let us know if you have any questions and we will have them answered as soon as we are able to.

Immediate notes:  

1) Many performers are showing up to camp unprepared.  Performers MUST have their water jugs/water bottles, lunch, towels, sunglasses, hats, sunscreen, binders, pencils and index cards.  Supplies are JUST as important as health needs. We have a minimal amount of volunteers that are around to pick up the pieces BUT that takes them away from what they signed up to do and fall behind on the assignments called for. Please ensure your children have what they need.

2) The call for volunteers will be year round.  It truly takes a village, in our case an army, to keep this program running smoothly and successful.  Please donate when you can, pay your dues and volunteer as your extra time allows.  Join our existing base of wonderful volunteers, make valuable friends and join the team. It's addictive and you'll be pleasantly surprised how much you'll enjoy and be appreciated for it.

  Good morning Band Families,  WOW what a weekend! I hope you and your kids feel so proud about this past weekend and the performance they had at Boca. The kids had a great show, judges were so complimentary and constructive, the costumes and props look fantastic, and more. This was an incredible first show (a 1st place win, Best Music, Visual, GE, and Guard did not hurt either!!!) and we are over the moon.  The work does not stop here, though. We have a big competition to look forward to this week, and a MODIFIED rehearsal schedule due to Yom Kippur (G'mar Chatima Tovah to those who observe).  Please read ALL information below, as many important and crucial details are addressed in the itinerary (and the FAQ page). PV Band Weekly Update: 10.26-11.01

  Good afternoon Band Families, Thank YOU for everything yesterday and this whole week! Directors, judges, and schools were nothing but complimentary for the way we host shows. They loved our respectfulness, our helpfulness, and how prepared we were, even with our weather situation at the end. Your kids also did a FANTASTIC job, and were the "talk of the town" in the way they conducted themselves.  That being said - we do need to wrap up some invitational items (air out tents, reorganize the connex, etc) so please see CutTime later today to volunteer tomorrow for Invitational cleanup.  It really does take a whole village to run this event, and we are PROUD to have y'all, our alumni, and our future representing us in such a positive manner.  We are hitting our final 2 weeks. PV Band Weekly Update: 9.21-9.27

Good morning band families! It's an exciting week ahead of us - first competition week! This week looks strange for our rehearsals, since there are NO sectionals or rehearsals Monday and Tuesday. We really stress (heavily) the importance of the rehearsals on Thursday and Friday to best set us up for success going into the Boca Comp. I tell our kids a lot that "practice to learn your part, rehearsal is to learn how other people's parts go with yours."  It is IMPERATIVE that our kids (and us) are thinking in 'team sport' mentality over individual interests this week, and in general.  Attached are several documents, please pursue and take note of the details.
