Good afternoon Band Families,
We have a busy and exciting stretch ahead! This week includes Symphonic Band rehearsal on Monday, Wind Ensemble rehearsal on Wednesday, and our FAU Pre-Festival performance on Friday for Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band. Our color guard will also be performing in WGI Tampa on Saturday. As we look ahead, we are preparing to host Concert MPAs on March 10–11 and truly need strong parent volunteer support since all of our students will be performing. We also have important upcoming opportunities to connect and fundraise, including our March 8 Parent Engagement Social, the March 7 Flea Market, continued Indianapolis sponsorship efforts (11 students already fully sponsored!), and iThink training for families interested in working events this summer. There are many ways to get involved, and your support makes all the difference for our kids.
Thank you for all that you do, and please continue to help us out by supporting and communicating! We NEED you for all of this, and cannot provide such wonderful experiences for our students without your help. As always, please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns, happy to help in any way.

Looking Ahead: Hosting Concert MPAs on March 10 and 11:
We are hosting all area high school concert ensembles for after school on March 10 and 11. Please check CutTime to sign up for volunteer slots and help out with this event.
All of our students are performing, so we really will not have ANY student participation for a lot of this. We NEED your help!!
Winter Guard Update:
Thank you to everyone who attended our recent meeting. I know parts of the conversation felt tense, but I also appreciate your willingness to show up and engage. I needed to be honest about where we stand so that we can move forward together in a clear and unified way.
The good news: we are securing a bus for Tampa, and I was able to work directly with the company to obtain discounts due to our long-standing relationship with them. We have already paid for the majority of our large expenses for the season, the Tampa transportation is one of the final major pieces, so we are not in a crisis situation.
I want to be very clear: the concerns we are facing are not with the families who have been communicating and actively working out plans with us. We fully understand that every family has different financial obligations, and we are always willing to work with you. We simply need communication. We cannot help if we do not hear from you.
Thank you to those who have stepped up and made it work; your effort does not go unnoticed. At the same time, we need everyone’s partnership in this, not just the same few people carrying the load. When we all contribute and communicate, we ensure the best possible experience for our students.
Save the Date: Parent Engagement Social on Sunday, March 8:
We are kicking off a fun engagement activity for all band and guard parents interested in getting involved in next year’s band planning. This will be a time to kick back and socialize with food and drink with your fellow band parents after a full year of marching season, winter competitions, and indoor concerts, while looking ahead to next year.
Please join us Sunday March 8th at 4:30 pm at the Hive Waterfront Restaurant and Tiki Bar. 2412 Floral Road, Lantana, FL (off of Hypoluxo Rd). We will be sitting outside in the big Tiki Hut (dining area).
Please complete this Google form to RSVP: https://forms.gle/mx4Rr6N8k5K74Scr8. If you want to get involved but aren’t available on the 8th please complete the RSVP to get added to the list for future fun engagement events and to stay in the loop of band planning. For questions please contact Amy Krostich on Slack, at
events@parkvistaband.com, or text her at (561) 374-3311.
Flea Market Update:
The next flea market fundraiser is on March 7, with one more this year coming up on April 11. Please share the attached flier with your family, friends, and neighbors! Community social media groups are great places to spread the word.
If you have a small business or have anything to sell, consider getting a booth for yourself, too. Sign up for a booth using this online form: https://tally.so/r/Y5Pvg0
Helping out for this valuable event is easy! Please consider signing up in CutTIme or contact Amy Krostich on Slack or text her at (561) 374-3311 for more information about getting involved.
Wind Ensemble - Indianapolis:
Please continue to see attached for the itineraries and sponsorship letters to share with your companies. I was able to successfully get a sponsorship for our group by reaching out directly to companies where our parents work and asking them to "sponsor one student." This has been highly successful. Companies are more willing to sponsor if they have a personal relationship with an employee (you), or the cause (ex. If a PV Alum or parent owns a company)
As of Feb 15: We have gotten 11 students FULLY SPONSORED by student or parents' places of employment. If you need help to reach out, please ask me. :)
Many hands make light work. I have reached out to almost 37 different companies, organizations, businesses, and more. We NEED your help in continuing to get the word out so this is not as large of a burden on our families. If you have contacts with large Florida based companies, reach out! Nearing tax season, most companies are looking for write-offs at the moment....!
Thank you so much for all of your help in this matter. We are trying to move Heaven and Earth to make it all happen for our kids, but I cannot do this without you.
iThink Training
Dates for the mandatory iThink training have been posted on CutTime. Here are some things to keep in mind if you are interested in working at the iThink Amphitheater in West Palm Beach.
- IThink places us in booths serving alcohol.
- You might carry heavy items to restock inventory.
- There are no food preparation or kitchen jobs.
- You will work directly with customers.
- You must diligently check IDs.
- IThink is an outdoor venue and all booths are outside, meaning exposure to sun, heat and possible rain.
- IThink sends payments quarterly. This means payments won't reflect in your account for a couple of months. Please be patient. This is out of our control.
If you are interested in this opportunity to raise money toward your students' fair share, let's get you trained. IThink pays a cost for each parent who attends the training. They ask that you only attend training if you plan to work several events, perhaps 6-8 events. Events run from May thru October. The iThink Amphitheater training dates are on CutTime. Click on "iThink Training". There you will have 6 dates to choose from. Sign up for 1 date you can attend. Please sign up before Friday, February 27th at 3pm on CutTime to attend one of the mandatory training sessions. This training is valid for three years.
