PV Band Weekly Update: 11.30-12.6

 Good afternoon Band Families,

Hope all of you had a restful and enjoyable Thanksgiving Break! This week is relatively quiet on the band front, but there are certainly events happening and more on the horizon. As always, please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns; happy to help in any way!!

Upcoming Events:
Monday, December 1 -- Jazz Band Concert (Jazz 1 and 2) at Aberdeen East
Tuesday, Dec 2, Thursday, Dec 4, Friday, Dec 5, 4-8PM -- Winter Guard rehearsal
Monday, December 1, Wednesday, December 3 -- Winter Percussion rehearsals
Saturday, December 6 -- All County Concert band auditions at Emerald Cove MS (Select Students)
Thursday, December 11 -- Winter Bliss rehearsal for all concert bands, 3pm-6pm
Friday, December 12 -- Winter Bliss Concert, 6:30pm-8pm
Saturday, December 13 -- Fundraising Flea Market, 8am-1pm

Aberdeen: JB 1 and 2
JB 1 and 2 will be participating in the annual performance at Aberdeen East Clubhouse (on Le Chalet, near Christa McAuliffe MS).
Students will need to wear concert black (festive accessories allowed), and will need to bring their music, a stand, and instrument.
Students will need to arrive at 6PM.
JB 2 will perform after our chorus around 7:15, and JB 1 will perform around 7:35pm. Students will be done around 8:00PM.

All County Concert Auditions:
Students who indicated their interest in auditioning for All-County Concert Band will need to be at Emerald Cove MS on Saturday, December 6. Students have specific time slots, please see the respective sheet: All County Audition Times
General notes: Arrive with enough time to get a good warm-up in (but not too much as to tire themselves). If you are early and the room is running ahead, you may audition earlier! Vice versa if a room is running behind.
Students should dress appropriately, as it is a live audition. At the least, dress code is polo and solid jeans. Please, NO crop tops, shorts, or athletic clothing.

Indianapolis (Wind Ensemble) PRELIMINARY INFO:
We have met with our travel company who has suggested a rate. This is continuing to be worked out, we are working to get the number down, but please see attached for ALL what our trip itinerary and costs entail. This itinerary is AT THE ABSOLUTE MOST what it would be.
We will need to do our part in Fundraising HUGE and targeting big donors. I will share more information in a separate email, but I would be remiss if I did not share (transparently) what is going on with our itinerary.
We are working on fundraisers for Winter Perc, Winter Guard, and will also be including this trip as well. More info in the next week. (As always, cost should not be the inhibitor, we will work together to ensure all the kids have a successful trip and a once-in-a-lifetime performance they deserve.)

Flea Market Fundraiser Update:
This fundraiser brings in significant money to the program and helps keep next year's fair share down (and for Indianapolis...). Seth, Amy, and Juliana (all senior parents) are looking for additional volunteers to keep operations smooth and to find dedicated people to keep the fundraiser alive next year.
Volunteer slots will be posted to CutTime soon. Email fundraising@parkvistaband.com with any questions and to find out how your skills can be useful for these events.

The next flea market is on December 13. See the attached flyer for details and additional dates. Your help in spreading the word to potential vendors and shoppers is greatly appreciated!
