PV Band Weekly Update: 11.16-11.21

 Good morning Band Families, 


Hope we all had a restful weekend (without marching band...!)! 
Almost there to Thanksgiving Break, final push here. The biggest thing on our docket right now is Bandsgiving on Tuesday! All families are invited, all are welcome, and all should sign up on CutTime so we know how to plan for the food we will all be bringing! Genuine note that we do need more "main dishes" and proteins, as we do not want this to be a sugar-rush dinner (for your sake when you take your kids home). Come spend the evening with us and celebrate all that is going well with the Park Vista Band! 

Fair Share from the marching season is also (past) due. Cheryl Phillips will be sending out individual statements and/or individualized SchoolCash links. PLEASE communicate with Cheryl and us if there are any financial encumberments, as 1.) we do not want this to limit participation and 2.) we will be placing students on PV Obligations in December if we do not have communication from you. We are happy to work with you, we just need to hear from you!

Thursday, November 20 -- All County Jazz Concert, 7pm-10pm
Monday, December 1 -- Jazz Band Concert (Jazz 1 and 2) at Aberdeen East Clubhouse, 6pm-9pm
Thursday, December 11 -- Winter Bliss rehearsal for all concert bands, 3pm-6pm
Friday, December 12 -- Winter Bliss Concert, 6:30pm-8pm
Saturday, December 13 -- Fundraising Flea Market, 8am-1pm

Bandsgiving on Tuesday:
The band's second annual Bandsgiving is on Tuesday in the school courtyard. The event will be a potluck style meal we will share with our Band Family.  Please come and plan to share Thanksgiving style or Cultural Dishes of your choosing.  This is a great opportunity to come together one last time at the end of the Fall Band Season before Thanksgiving Break.   

We are in need of proteins as well as various side dishes. We are also requesting donations of disposable tableware. It will not be an effective Bandsgiving if everyone only brings desserts!! :) 
Please sign up in CutTime to let us know what type of food (or tableware) you plan to bring to help make this event a success. 
We ask that all families in attendance to kindly contribute at least one dish (to serve a minimum of 10 people).  
We are also looking for a few more people to help with setup, serving the food, and cleanup. Please sign up to help in CutTime.

Check-in and food drop-off begins at 6:00, and dinner will begin around 6:30. 

All County Jazz:
All County Jazz rehearsal and concert will take place this week at Dwyer High School, in Palm Beach Gardens.

Flea Market Fundraiser Update:
We had our first fundraising flea market of the school year yesterday and it was a big success. A shout out goes to all band parents, students, and alumni parents who came out to help make it happen. This fundraiser brings in significant money to the program and helps keep next year's fair share down. Seth, Amy, and Juliana (all senior parents) are looking for additional volunteers to keep operations smooth and to find dedicated people to keep the fundraiser alive next year. 
Volunteer slots will be posted to CutTime soon. Email fundraising@parkvistaband.com with any questions and to find out how your skills can be useful for these events.

The next flea market is on December 13. See the attached flyer for details and additional dates. Your help in spreading the word to potential vendors and shoppers is greatly appreciated!

Good afternoon 2025 Marching Band and Guard Families! We are SO excited to get the ball rolling on next season. PV Band Weekly Update: 9.28-10.4

  Good morning Band Families,  WOW what a weekend! I hope you and your kids feel so proud about this past weekend and the performance they had at Boca. The kids had a great show, judges were so complimentary and constructive, the costumes and props look fantastic, and more. This was an incredible first show (a 1st place win, Best Music, Visual, GE, and Guard did not hurt either!!!) and we are over the moon.  The work does not stop here, though. We have a big competition to look forward to this week, and a MODIFIED rehearsal schedule due to Yom Kippur (G'mar Chatima Tovah to those who observe).  Please read ALL information below, as many important and crucial details are addressed in the itinerary (and the FAQ page). PV Band Weekly Update: 10.26-11.01

  Good afternoon Band Families, Thank YOU for everything yesterday and this whole week! Directors, judges, and schools were nothing but complimentary for the way we host shows. They loved our respectfulness, our helpfulness, and how prepared we were, even with our weather situation at the end. Your kids also did a FANTASTIC job, and were the "talk of the town" in the way they conducted themselves.  That being said - we do need to wrap up some invitational items (air out tents, reorganize the connex, etc) so please see CutTime later today to volunteer tomorrow for Invitational cleanup.  It really does take a whole village to run this event, and we are PROUD to have y'all, our alumni, and our future representing us in such a positive manner.  We are hitting our final 2 weeks.
