PV Band Weekly Update: 11.09-11.15
Good morning Band Families,
We could not be more proud with how this weekend turned out. Between our kids enduring a VERY hot prelims, all the way to throwing it DOWN and having the best performance they could have in Finals, we are so proud of all of their hard work throughout the year. This season and show turned SO many heads across the state, directors and bands were nothing but complimentary about our process, our show, and more. We could not have done this without all of your support, your trust, patience, and enthusiasm for the kids and what they should be proud of. This was an amazing way to end our 2025 Marching Band season, and we are so grateful for it all. (Big plans in 2026 btw...!!!!)
Looking forward, we are NOT slowing down the busy just because MB is over. We have already started Winter Guard, Percussion, planning for the Wind Ensemble Indianapolis trip, planning for hosting Jazz MPA and HS Concert in February and March respectively, and more. PV Band is a multifaceted program where we invest just as much into our concert programs as we do our marching band. That being said... if your student is participating in these activities, there is more opportunity (and a greater need!) to participate in FLA Live, our fundraisers (we will launch one going into Thanksgiving Break), and volunteering at our Flea Markets, with the first one being this Saturday.
As always, please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns, happy to help in any way we can! Mr. Rodriguez and I are honored to be your Directors and we are looking forward to keeping this train moving in the right direction.
Upcoming Events:
Saturday, November 15 -- Flea Market Fundraiser, 8am-1pm
Tuesday, November 18 -- Bandsgiving Potluck Dinner
The First Fundraising Flea Market of the Season:
With the end of the busy days that marching season brought, our flea market fundraisers are getting underway. The first flea market this year will be this Saturday, November 15 from 8am to 1pm. This is a huge fundraiser for the band program. Please check out CutTIme for volunteer needs. Band and guard students can also volunteer and earn fair share for the Winter programs and next year's marching season. Interested students should sign up with the directors.
Please share the attached flier with your family, friends, and neighbors! Community social media groups are great places to spread the word. We encourage all of you to come support the flea market vendors by coming out to shop, too. If you have a small business or have anything to sell, consider getting a booth for yourself, too. Vendor registration is available at https://www.parkvistaband. com/events. Registration for the November flea market closes on Wednesday. Additional dates this season: December 13, January 10, February 7, March 7, April 11, and May 2.
Email Amy, Seth, and Juliana at fundraising@parkvistaband. com with any questions.
Bandsgiving on November 18:
The band's second annual Bandsgiving is coming up on Tuesday, November 18th starting at 6:30pm, location TBD (either the Cafeteria or the Courtyard). The event will be a potluck style meal we will share with our Band Family. Please come and plan to share Thanksgiving style or Cultural Dishes of your choosing. This is a great opportunity to come together one last time at the end of the Fall Band Season before Thanksgiving Break. Contact Amy at events@parkvistaband.com with any questions.
Sign up in CutTime to claim the type of food (or tableware) that you plan to bring to help make this event a success. We ask that all families in attendance to kindly contribute at least one dish (to serve a minimum of 10 people).
All Fair Share is Now Due:
The complete marching Fair Share balance is now due. Check CutTime for your balance after fundraising and other fees and pay the balance. Your student’s name and FAIR SHARE should be written on the outside of an envelope with the payment and put in the band safe. Payment can also be made using School Cash Online. Reach out to Cheryl Phillips at treasurer@parkvistaband.com if you have any questions about your balance or need to work out a payment schedule.
A Note About Working at Amerant Arena:
Amerant Arena requires 11 people to be given a booth. When Park Vista parents are assigned a booth but do not have a full staff for that booth, the arena can dock our group for being short staffed. This comes out of the profits of the parents that do work that event. When you sign up to work a booth please make sure that you mark it on your calendar and plan accordingly. While we understand that last minute things come up, cancellations have been happening a lot this season. These cancellations leave us struggling to find replacements. If there is a last minute emergency which prevents you from working an event please email Joanne at Flalive@parkvistaband.com ASAP so a replacement can be arranged.
