PV Band Weekly Update: 11.02-11.09

 Good afternoon Band Families,

GRAND CHAMPS at Jupiter, and UNDEFEATED in the season, WOW. This is the final push until the end; our competition is with ourselves and how much we can perfect our product. We still have so many improvements in achievement to make for the rest of the week, and while others may let off the gas pedal now, Mr. Rodriguez and I know how to get our kids to push the last 10% so we can send into the world a performance that sparkles and (two) we are proud of.
We need YOU to support your kids this week - encourage them to stay on top of school work, support the kids at their performance this Saturday in Prelims (they thrive off audience engagement), and let's continue working hard for a Finals performance.
We are adding a *quick* rehearsal on Friday from 4-6 so we can get one more run through and can load the trucks, and not have the kids come to school too early on Saturday morning. We are having a 'send off' performance, all are invited!!

As always, please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns; happy to help in any way! Almost to the finish line!!!

All Fair Share is Now Due:
The complete Fair Share balance is now due. Check CutTime for your balance after fundraising and other fees and pay the balance. Your student’s name and FAIR SHARE should be written on the outside of an envelope with the payment and put in the band safe. Payment can also be made using School Cash Online. Reach out to Cheryl Phillips at treasurer@parkvistaband.com if you have any questions about your balance or need to work out a payment schedule.

Save the Date -- Bandsgiving on November 18:
The band's second annual Bandsgiving is coming up on Tuesday, November 18th starting at 6:30pm, location TBD (either the Cafeteria or the Courtyard).  The event will be a potluck style meal we will share with our Band Family.  Please come and plan to share Thanksgiving style or Cultural Dishes of your choosing.  This is a great opportunity to come together one last time at the end of the Fall Band Season before Thanksgiving Break.  Contact Amy at events@parkvistaband.com with any questions.

The suggested "menu" and needs will be posted in CutTime for foods (to serve a minimum of 10) as well as tableware needed to help make this event a success.  We ask that all families in attendance not to come empty handed and kindly contribute at least one dish, or more if desired.

Fundraising Flea Markets:
With the end of marching season in sight, our flea market fundraisers are about to get underway. The first flea market this year will be on November 15 from 8am to 1pm. This is a great fundraiser for the band program. Please volunteer if you can make it -- slots will be available in CutTime soon. We encourage all of you to come support the flea market vendors by coming out to shop. See the attached flier for details and share it with friends, family, and with your neighborhood too! If you have a small business or have anything to sell, consider getting a booth for yourself, too. Vendor registration is available at https://www.parkvistaband.com/events

Email Amy, Seth, and Juliana at fundraising@parkvistaband.com with any questions.
