PV Band Weekly Update: 10.5-10.11
Good morning band families,
What a weekend! We are SO proud of these kids for sweeping 4A and the overall contest CLEAN, but more importantly, we are proud of the work that the kids have put in to better themselves from their last performance. We cannot possibly do any of this without the tireless work from y'all as our volunteers, cheerleaders, and more, and we are SO grateful for everything you do to support the kids and our program in all our endeavors.
We have the weekend off this week, but our weekdays are busy. We have a meeting for Invitational tomorrow (it is online. Tune in!), rehearsals, select students will be auditioning for all county jazz on Wednesday, Senior Night, and composite pics on Friday! Our MB kids will need their compressions, our concert kids will need to bring a CONCERT BLACK SHIRT. (Note: Friday is an ODD day. This means our Sym band and Guard kids will need to come to the band room during lunch or before school to take pics!!)
As always, please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns, happy to help in any way!!

Parent Meeting on Monday:
This is a mandatory meeting for all band and guard parents to discuss our upcoming Invitational on October 25. This is an all-hands-on-deck event! We need all parents to volunteer in some capacity to make the busy (and exciting) day go smoothly. The money we raise at the Invitational is essential to keep the band program running. (if you cannot make it, we will record. Apologies for a very late notice)
This is an online-only meeting. Join here: https://meet.google.com/ haa-gvoh-sfy
Invitational Drink Drop-Off:
We ask all band families to contribute some drinks to sell at the Invitational. The first drop-off time will be this Thursday after practice. A cart will be set up at the band gate. Please bring the following based on your child's section:
Percussion: Coke
Trumpets: Diet Coke
Melophones & Tubas: Sprite
Drum majors, Flutes, Piccolos: Brisk Iced Tea
Clarinets, Saxophones, Baritones: Water
Color Guard: Gatorade (20oz bottles, assorted flavors)
Senior Night Football Game:
Come out and cheer for the band and celebrate our seniors! Please check CutTime for volunteer needs. Seniors have received an email from the school with questions for them to answer about senior night. Be sure that they respond to that message. Senior parents, keep an eye out for a separate email with details on your participation.
Dinner for the football game will be (2) slices of pizza with a drink. If you are interested, please have your child put an envelope with $5 in the safe with their name and Football Dinner on it with the date by THURSDAY.
Fair Share:
The first three fair share payments are now due. Your balance is available in CutTime. If you have any questions about fair share, please reach out to Cheryl Phillips at treasurer@parkvistaband.com .
