PV Band Weekly Update: 10.12-10.18

 Good morning band families,


Kind of a crazy week last week with logistics, but I hope y'all were able to enjoy a real weekend! This week, we have a game on MONDAY and MPA on Saturday (itinerary attached), and Monday is senior night (details below). Santaluces' band will be here for the game as well. Let's have a good showing for our seniors! Our non-seniors will be dressed in Polo and Jeans (and sneakers), seniors will wear senior shirts to school, and uniforms for the senior walk.

Week at a Glance:
There are some schedule changes this week because last week's football game was rescheduled for Monday
Monday, October 13 -- Senior Night Football Game, 6:30pm
Tuesday, October 14 -- Full Marching Band Rehearsal, 4pm-8pm
Thursday, October 16 -- Full Marching Band Rehearsal, 4pm-8pm
Saturday, October 18 -- Marching MPA

Senior Night Football Game:
Last Friday's game was rescheduled for this Monday due to rain. Come out and cheer for the band and celebrate our seniors! Please check CutTime for volunteer needs. Seniors have received an email from the school with questions for them to answer about senior night. Be sure that they respond to that message. Senior parents, keep an eye out for a separate email with details on your participation.

Everyone who brought in money for pizza last week will get it before the game on Monday.

Tickets to the game are available on GoFan here: https://gofan.co/event/4961139?schoolId=FL27395. If you bought tickets last week, you will get a refund from GoFan and you will need to use the new link to buy them for the new date. Senior parents do not need to buy tickets for this game -- just provide your name and ID at the gate.

If someone is interested in helping with photography for the band, this would be a good chance to do so. Our amazing photographer Eric Mason is a senior parent, so he will not be able to take pictures of the seniors while they walk on the field with their families. If you have some skills with photography, please sign up in CutTime. If interested and have questions, feel free to Slack Eric or email him at website@parkvistaband.com.

Senior Night Timeline:
  5:00 PM Gates will open.
  5:20 PM Seniors and Parents will Line Up
  5:30 PM Start announcing.
  6:15 PM Captains
  6:20 PM Fight Song (Football runs on Field)
  6:25 PM National Anthem
  6:30 PM Kick Off

The order will be Football, Cheer, Band.
We will be staging at the south end of the bleachers and then moving onto the track, where the players/band enters the field. Each Senior will be given a note card with their name and number indicating their position in line.

Volunteer Signup for Invitational:
I cannot underscore enough how much of a COMMUNITY our upcoming Invitational on October 25 this is - from our youngest members all the way to our broader community. This is an ALL HANDS ON DECK event and there is a role for everyone! In case you were not able to attend last week's parent meeting, the recording is available here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1mD0AkIkRlYrnYE_qqf_14s7SsmglgB20/view

1. Read the descriptions of the roles on Friday, Saturday, and donations
2. Find the role that piques your interest and abilities 
3. Sign up your name (Yes! You may sign up for multiple shifts!!)
4. Send to your friends, relatives, alumni, more!

The kids will have their own sign up sheet. As a gentle note - our kids, as much as they would love to, CANNOT volunteer for concessions or parking lot, so these are the positions we HAVE to fill with adults!!

Looking ahead -- Trunk or Treat:
On Thursday October 30th the Park Vista Band parents will be offering/hosting a Trunk or Treat event for the kids after practice. See the attached flyer.  This annual tradition is a fun seasonal event for our kids during the grind of the competition season.  Please consider participation in this fun event for our kids by decorating your car and sharing some treats with our kids on this fun evening for them.  Siblings are welcome as well so feel free to bring your whole family.  Set up on the day of will begin at 6 pm.  We will pass out candy after the kids get out of practice at 8 pm.
