PV Band Weekly Update: 8.24-8.30

 Good morning band families, 


Our first game was a SUCCESS on Friday! The kids had a great time, we had a great time, they nailed their show during Halftime, and I am sure we sent home some tired kids who hopefully are resting and getting their HW done this weekend. 

This week will look slightly different; same structure with Gamedays, but on a different day... Thursday! As soon as the game is over (around 9:00/30pm), we implore the kids to go home ASAP when their stuff is put away since we have school the next day. We will be reminding them throughout the week to plan ahead for their homework and studying.

Week at a Glance:
Monday, August 25 -- Full Marching Band Rehearsal***, 4pm-8pm
*** Note the schedule change on Monday -- it is for all sections because of the Thursday football game.
Tuesday, August 26 -- Full Marching Band Rehearsal, 4pm-8pm
Thursday, August 28 -- Home Football Game, 6:30pm

Thursday's Football Game:
Come out and cheer on the band while they play in the stands and perform their show during halftime! Tickets are available for purchase online here and in the GoFan app. 

Dinner for ALL football games will be (2) slices of pizza with a drink. If you are interested, please have your child put an envelope with $5 in the safe with their name and Football Dinner on it with the date BEFORE WEDNESDAY. If your kids will still be hungry there will be time after their halftime performance to visit concessions or feel free to pack them additional food.

Fair Share Payments:
Fair Share can now be paid on School Cash Online at https://palmbeach.schoolcashonline.com. Payment can also be made by cash or check and put in the band safe with your student's name on it. It is crucial that everyone keeps up with these payments to keep the program running! 

The next Fair Share payment of $400 is due on September 1st. If you have any questions or concerns, please email Cheryl Phillips at treasurer@parkvistaband.com.

IMPORTANT: If you owe from previous year(s), you are on the obligation list with the school. This means your student cannot purchase a homecoming or prom ticket, get a parking pass, or participate at graduation. Any payments made to band first goes to any previous year(s) balance to get the student off the obligation list.

New Field Trip Forms:
Field trip forms for the competition at Jupiter High School and FMBC States at FIU were distributed at last week's parent meeting. If you were not at the meeting or need another copy, they are available to download on the Document Archive page of the Parent HUB: https://sites.google.com/parkvistaband.com/parenthub/doc-archive. Please fill them out and return them as soon as possible.

Show Shirt Orders:
SHOW SHIRT PRE-ORDERS are now available on School Cash Online ONLY until September 5. This is the only way you can order a shirt, so don't miss out!  TWO WEEKS ONLY!!!
**If you paid your merch fees, your student will get a shirt as part of those fees---so no need to order one for them!**

What is a show shirt?  A show shirt is a t-shirt that has our show theme (Salvation) and graphic on the front, and the list of our competitions on the back.  This year's shirt is hunter green with gold lettering. 
When do we wear it? The students wear it after they perform at competitions---they take off their uniform jackets/tops and put the show shirt on.  Parents wear it to watch the kids compete---everyone can quickly identify what band you are supporting! You will see other schools wearing their show shirts as well.  
Where do I get one?  You order it on school cash and they will be delivered to your student when they come in---probably the week of September 22.  
Who should order these shirts?  Parents, grandparents, friends, anyone who wants to support our band!
Why do we wear these again?  We wear them to support our students and show the world how proud we are of our band and our show.
How much do they cost and what sizes do they come in?  They are all adult sizes.  S-XL are $14 each and 2X-3X are $17.  They are Gildan brand t-shirts and are 100% cotton. They will most likely shrink a bit if you put them in the dryer.
