PV Band Weekly Update 8.17-8.23

 Good morning Band Families, 


We had an amazing first week of school and a fantastic 9-9 yesterday! This week brings our first football game — and the marching band’s first Gameday performance of the year! We strongly encourage our concert ensemble students to join us in the stands; Friday Night Lights with the band family is an unforgettable experience full of music, energy, and fun.

Week at a Glance:
Monday, August 18 -- Color Guard and Percussion Rehearsal, 4pm-8pm
Tuesday, August 19 -- Full Marching Band Rehearsal, 4pm-8pm
Tuesday, August 19 -- Parent Meeting, 7pm-8pm - Auditorium
Thursday, August 21 -- Full Marching Band Rehearsal, 4pm-8pm
Friday, August 22 -- Home Football Game, 6:30pm
Friday August 22 -- After Game Dinner Social at Murphy's Grill

First Football Game of the Season:
Come out and cheer on the band while they play in the stands and perform their show during halftime! Tickets are available for purchase online here and in the GoFan app. 

Dinner for ALL football games will be (2) slices of pizza with a drink. If you are interested, please have your child put an envelope with $5 in the safe with their name and Football Dinner on it with the date. If your kids will still be hungry there will be time after their halftime performance to visit concessions or feel free to pack them additional food.

Dinner Social After the Football Game:
We are having our traditional social dinner after the first football game on Friday 8/22, taking place at Murphy's Grill in Boynton Beach on 441, south of Hypoluxo. Dinner is $20 CASH for an entrĂ©e and drink (tax and tip included). There will be a lot of options such as burgers, chicken, sandwiches, flatbreads, salads with chicken, etc. The restaurant will be donating 10% of all student meals to the band program. Parents can come too and order off the full menu.

We hope all students will come out -- it's a wonderful opportunity to have fun, socialize and meet and welcome our newest members!  See the attached flier for this event too.

Parents, please also check CutTime to volunteer as a Chaperone for the event. Email Amy at events@parkvistaband.com with any questions.

Fundraising:

Want to make some money toward your fair share? Sign-up in CutTime to sell concessions at the football game. If you have an issue getting there at 5:00 please reach out to Beth on Slack or president@parkvistaband.com and we will try to make accommodations. NEED TO BE RAPTOR VERIFIED!!!!


Also we will be rolling out a new fundraiser called FanAngel in the next week – show up to the parent meeting on Tuesday at 7pm to find out more details.

We have lots of volunteering spots available on CutTime – check often it is always being updated. Come out and be a part of our band family!
