PV Band Weekly Update 8.10-8.16
Good morning band families,
We are beyond proud of our students for everything they’ve accomplished and the incredible progress they’ve made during band camp. Seeing everyone come together at Friends & Family Night was such a joy, and it’s been amazing to watch the bonds you’ve built with each other in just three short weeks.
With school starting tomorrow, remember that your band family is here for you, especially if you’ve got the “first day of school” scaries! I will be in the band room around 6:30–6:45 AM, so feel free to come hang out, ask older members for advice, get schedule help, or simply start your morning surrounded by friends.
Our weekly emails will start going to ALL band families this week, so you will have more information outside of Marching Band included in the weekly emails! :)
There is no Marching Band rehearsal this week M-F, but we’ll be back on Saturday for a 9–9 “catch-all” day to make sure everyone is on the same page. If you have friends who want to join, it is not too late! Bring them along Saturday, even if they’ve never played an instrument before, and we’ll get them caught up.
Thank you for everything, and as always, please reach out with any questions or concerns. Happy to help in any way!

Board President's Message:
Thank you to everyone who came out for our Friends and Family event! The band looked and sounded amazing, and we're so excited for what's to come.
As we gear up for the season, we'll have a fundraising opportunity selling concessions at the concession stand (no cooking required!) - keep your eyes out for that in CutTime.
We're holding a PARENT meeting on Tuesday, August 19th, from 7-8 PM to discuss fundraising and volunteering opportunities. The location is TBD, but it will be in either the band room or the auditorium.
Parent involvement is what makes this program a success, and we need your help! If you're not sure how you can contribute, please reach out—we'd love to find a way for you to get involved.

We hope all students will come out and engage -- it's a wonderful opportunity to have fun, socialize and meet and welcome our newest members!
Parents, please also check CutTime to volunteer as a Chaperone for the event. Email Amy Krostich at events@parkvistaband.com with any questions.
Schedule Updates:
We have added a competition to the marching schedule -- The band will be competing at Jupiter High School on November 1. There have also been a few modifications to after school practices on a few days. All details are available in the Calendar on the Band HUB.
Navigating the Parking Lot Efficiently and Safely:
Please keep these guidelines in mind to help us all stay safe in the school parking lot and keep all cars moving well!
- When dropping off at the band gate, let your child out at the sidewalk and then turn left and drive down the nearest row of the parking lot heading away from the school. Then loop around to and head to the exit.
- If you aren't ready to leave right after drop off, please park in the parking lot.
- When picking up at the band gate, park your car nearby to wait for your child to be ready. When leaving, drive down your row away from the school and loop around to head to the exit.
