PV Band Weekly Update 7.20-7.26
We are truly looking forward to welcoming our marching band students back tomorrow for July Camp! We’ve built in some fun activities throughout the week — including Skit Night! — to help ensure our students have a meaningful “camp” experience filled with connection and camaraderie. We’re also incredibly excited to start putting our show drill on the field.
With the forecast looking a bit hotter this week, I want to encourage everyone to begin hydrating now to set themselves up for success. We will have cool cloths, fruit, and other resources on hand to help keep students safe and comfortable, but staying ahead of hydration is key. Our students are not just musicians — they are also athletes — and we want to help them perform at their best physically and mentally.
Be on the lookout for another email from me later today or tomorrow with some very exciting news! This announcement will impact not only our concert ensembles but also shape the direction of our marching season moving forward.
Thank you, as always, for your support and trust. I cannot wait to see our students tomorrow and kick off what is sure to be an incredible week! As always, please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns — we are happy to help in any way!
Thank you to everyone that came out to our 1st Annual E-Day, I hope you all found the event beneficial as a one stop shop for addressing all the formalities to get our season off to a great start. With that being said, there are still many families that have not submitted their forms - please prioritize turning in all the paperwork so you are eligible to participate in all the various band activities throughout the season. You'll be able to turn in forms on Monday morning.
All forms are available in the Document Archive section of the Parent HUB. Also included is a handy guide to urgent care facilities that offer sports physicals if you still need one. https://sites.google.com/

Spiritwear Update:
Merchandise payments are due ASAP. This is NOT part of fair share—it is in addition to it. If you are unsure of how much you owe, please message Marjorie Soffer on Slack or email her at spiritwear@parkvistaband.
Volunteer and Donate to help at Band Camp:
Calling all parents! If you can, please help out to keep Band Camp running smoothly. Your help is needed to donate snacks, clean the cool cloths, pick up dinner, serve dinner, and more. Details are all in CutTime -- sign in and sign up for what you can. Thank you so much!
Spirit Week: July 28 - August 1
Spirit Week kicks off Monday, July 28th – The kids have put together a fun-filled week with a different theme each day. To help you prepare and avoid any last-minute Target runs, here's a breakdown of each day's theme:
Monday 28th – Matching Monday
Tuesday 29th – Dress like a Tech Day
Wednesday 30th – Wacky Wednesday
Friday 1st – Power Red (Red shirts)
Start digging out your change for our upcoming “Penny Wars” which the kids will be participating in starting on Monday July 28th. The kids will get all the details from the directors but don’t be surprised if you are asked for any loose change so they can compete against the other band sections.
You can already start helping your kids earn Spirit Week points for their section.
Just reply to this email with a selfie of you and your kid to let the directors know that you're up to date with the weekly emails!
