PV Band Weekly Update 7.13-7.19

 Good afternoon band families, 

Hope everyone has been enjoying their summer vacation!

Marching Band camp begins Monday, July 21, and all required paperwork must be submitted beforehand. To streamline this, we’re holding an E-Day (EVERYTHING Day) on Thursday, July 17, from 5–9 PM in the PV auditorium. This one-stop event will simplify paperwork submission and prepare for a successful season.

Please log in to CutTime to schedule your 15-minute appointment to:

  • Turn in all mandatory forms

  • Collect pre-ordered merchandise

  • Get financial forms notarized

  • Pay for pre-ordered meals

Important reminders:

  • No electronic payments accepted — bring cash or a check! 

  • Bring your ID for verification and volunteer registration in the Raptor system

We understand that this season—full of forms, commitments, and preparations—can feel overwhelming for both you and your child. It’s a lot, and the upcoming band camp schedule may even be causing second thoughts. But please know this: what lies ahead is truly transformative.

Through this experience, your child will grow—not only as a musician but as a person. They’ll discover the meaning of pride in a shared purpose, build lasting friendships, and learn the value of discipline, teamwork, and mutual support.

Our staff, Band Board, Mr. Rodriguez, and I are here for everything you or your child may need. We’re deeply committed not just to their musical success, but to their overall well-being and personal development.

Things to Do Before July Camp:

July Band Camp is right around the corner, so it's time to get ready for the marching season!

  • Schedule your child's sports physical and have the physical forms filled out.
  • Fill out the other band forms. Have them notarized on your own or at E-Day on July 17.
  • Join our Slack workspace.
  • Log into CutTime.
  • Register for the school district's volunteer system RAPTOR.
  • Peruse volunteer opportunities during the band season.
  • Consider participating in FLA Live or other fundraisers that earn money for the band and towards fair share.
  • Add the band calendar to your phone.

  • July 28–30: 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM - NO practice July 31 due to SDPBC TeacherFest
  • August 1: 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM
  • August 4–7: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM
  • August 8: Band Olympics

  • Parent Dessert Meet & Greet
    Date: July 21 (First day of Band Camp)
    Time: 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM
  • Friends & Family Potluck Dinner
    Date: August 7 (Last day of Band Camp)
    Time: 5:00-9:00 (Practice time as normal, EXH show starts at 7:00pm)
