PV Band Weekly Update 5.11-5.17

Good afternoon band families and Happy Mother's Day!

We had a great band banquet yesterday, and had such a great end to a fantastic year!
We still have just a few things left before we really wrap up the year. See attached for our 2025 Show Reveal! Let's get more families involved in a very exciting product for next year!!

Flea Market on Saturday
We are hosting the final flea market of the year this Saturday, 8am-1pm at PVHS. This is a great fundraiser for the band program. Please volunteer if you can make it -- we have lots of vendors coming and there will be no student volunteers this time because they will be at May-Day. 
Sign up in CutTime or email fundraising@parkvistaband.com if you can help out! You are also encouraged to support the flea market vendors. Share the flier with friends and family too!

May-Day Marching Camp on Saturday, 9am-4pm
This will be hosted at Christa McAuliffe Middle School. Required attendance for all returning and new marching band students.
Students will need to bring lunch, as there will be a break.

  Good morning Band Families,  WOW what a weekend! I hope you and your kids feel so proud about this past weekend and the performance they had at Boca. The kids had a great show, judges were so complimentary and constructive, the costumes and props look fantastic, and more. This was an incredible first show (a 1st place win, Best Music, Visual, GE, and Guard did not hurt either!!!) and we are over the moon.  The work does not stop here, though. We have a big competition to look forward to this week, and a MODIFIED rehearsal schedule due to Yom Kippur (G'mar Chatima Tovah to those who observe).  Please read ALL information below, as many important and crucial details are addressed in the itinerary (and the FAQ page). PV Band Weekly Update: 10.26-11.01

  Good afternoon Band Families, Thank YOU for everything yesterday and this whole week! Directors, judges, and schools were nothing but complimentary for the way we host shows. They loved our respectfulness, our helpfulness, and how prepared we were, even with our weather situation at the end. Your kids also did a FANTASTIC job, and were the "talk of the town" in the way they conducted themselves.  That being said - we do need to wrap up some invitational items (air out tents, reorganize the connex, etc) so please see CutTime later today to volunteer tomorrow for Invitational cleanup.  It really does take a whole village to run this event, and we are PROUD to have y'all, our alumni, and our future representing us in such a positive manner.  We are hitting our final 2 weeks. PV Band Weekly Update: 9.21-9.27

Good morning band families! It's an exciting week ahead of us - first competition week! This week looks strange for our rehearsals, since there are NO sectionals or rehearsals Monday and Tuesday. We really stress (heavily) the importance of the rehearsals on Thursday and Friday to best set us up for success going into the Boca Comp. I tell our kids a lot that "practice to learn your part, rehearsal is to learn how other people's parts go with yours."  It is IMPERATIVE that our kids (and us) are thinking in 'team sport' mentality over individual interests this week, and in general.  Attached are several documents, please pursue and take note of the details.
