Garcia & Philharmonic update

 Hello parents,

Please read this entire email!!!

Attached is the itinerary, competition schedule and concession menu for the Garcia competition this Saturday.

If you signed up as a parent driver OR you are driving your own student (only 4 parents are driving their own, every other student has already been assigned), you must be at the school no later than 3:30PM.
Parent drivers will receive a placard for your windshield. If you choose to drop off students and return after retreat for student pick up, this must be in your car for re-entry AND you must email me and the directors by Friday so we can let you know what time to return. You cannot return in a different car and you must return to pick up the students, NOT a different driver. Please see the site map for the entry point for student drop off, it is NOT the spectator entrance.

ALL STUDENTS MUST RETURN TO PARK VISTA AFTER THE GARCIA COMPETITION to drop off their instruments in anticipation of the Sunday Philharmonic performance.

FULL Uniforms will be returned to the uniform coordinators AT GARCIA to be loaded into the trucks so that they can be sanitized and students can be released more quickly upon return to Park Vista (please note, this is different that what the itinerary states). Please have your students pack shorts in their band backpack to wear over their compression garments for the ride back to Park Vista.

Students should have compression garments for both Saturday and Sunday.
Students should have their marching shoes for both Saturday and Sunday.
Students must have their show shirt for Saturday.

For the Sunday Philharmonic performance, students will need to be at the school at 9AM and will return to Park Vista at 2PM.
Attached is the permission slip. Please print, complete and return to the school by Friday. An itinerary will be emailed very soon.

Tickets for this event must be purchased VIA Go Fan. Tickets are $18 and Parking is $5. Bulldog Band Spectacular Tickets
Lots of info may be found on Garcia's website as well...
There is no mention of whether they accept cash or credit card so I recommend you give students cash for concessions and that you bring cash for parking.

  Good morning Band Families,  WOW what a weekend! I hope you and your kids feel so proud about this past weekend and the performance they had at Boca. The kids had a great show, judges were so complimentary and constructive, the costumes and props look fantastic, and more. This was an incredible first show (a 1st place win, Best Music, Visual, GE, and Guard did not hurt either!!!) and we are over the moon.  The work does not stop here, though. PV Band Weekly Update: 10.26-11.01

  Good afternoon Band Families, Thank YOU for everything yesterday and this whole week! Directors, judges, and schools were nothing but complimentary for the way we host shows. They loved our respectfulness, our helpfulness, and how prepared we were, even with our weather situation at the end. Your kids also did a FANTASTIC job, and were the "talk of the town" in the way they conducted themselves.  That being said - we do need to wrap up some invitational items (air out tents, reorganize the connex, etc) so please see CutTime later today to volunteer tomorrow for Invitational cleanup.  It really does take a whole village to run this event, and we are PROUD to have y'all, our alumni, and our future representing us in such a positive manner.  We are hitting our final 2 weeks. PV Band Weekly Update: 9.21-9.27

Good morning band families! It's an exciting week ahead of us - first competition week! This week looks strange for our rehearsals, since there are NO sectionals or rehearsals Monday and Tuesday. We really stress (heavily) the importance of the rehearsals on Thursday and Friday to best set us up for success going into the Boca Comp. I tell our kids a lot that "practice to learn your part, rehearsal is to learn how other people's parts go with yours."  It is IMPERATIVE that our kids (and us) are thinking in 'team sport' mentality over individual interests this week, and in general.  Attached are several documents, please pursue and take note of the details.
