Good evening Band families,
This is it! This is the week! This is the last one!! We've been working hard as a band and I am sure as families since MAY to get here!!!! State deserved its own email, so please read below for ALL FMBC State information, and be on the lookout for another email that will have our normal weekly activities.
Gentle note regarding our itinerary: By the time we get back to school from performing in prelims, this will be around the time we would normally dismiss from a competition rehearsal. Instead of keeping the kids at school from 11:30-6, we figured it would be good to let the kids go home so they can eat a good lunch, get a nap at home, do their homework ;), rest, etc. like we would for a normal competition. This is a perk of us having such a spread-out state time, but having this contest be so close to home. I realize it might be a lot to drop them off at school for prelims, then pick up, then drop off, then pick up again after finals, but I genuinely think it will benefit the kids to go home and spend some time with y'all before coming back!
As always, please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. We GOT THIS!!!
SCHEDULES
The competition schedules for the preliminaries and finals are attached. The finals "schedule" is only a time schedule at this point -- bands that make finals will be placed in the schedule after prelims. There are only 5 4A bands and 5 4A spots in finals. Park Vista performs at 10:20am in prelims and WILL perform in the finals event. Gates open for finals at 3:15pm, and the 4A bands perform between 8:12pm and 9:08pm. Retreat is at 10:46pm.
TICKETS
The presale tickets for 2024 FMBC State Prelims and Finals are on sale NOW!!!
Many of the tickets for finals are for reserved seats, and prices vary depending on the section you choose to sit in. Seating may be limited, so we recommend pre-purchasing those tickets.
PARENT & VOLUNTEER PARKING
Due to limited on-site parking, we recommend that parents and volunteers pre-purchase premium parking. These passes are valid for re-entry throughout the day and can be purchased here: https://jhsband.betterworld.org/campaigns/fmbc-finals-parking-jhs
Spaces are limited at JHS, so carpooling and pre-purchase is encouraged.
Off-site parking is also available for purchase at Dwyer High School. A shuttle bus will be available from that parking area. (Need to plan at least 45 minutes for this option depending on time of arrival)
Drop-Off Option: There will be a dedicated drop-off lane at Jupiter High School. Parents can drop off and then park at the remote Dwyer lot.
COMMUNICATION
We will keep parents up to date on Slack. You are also invited to join the ‘FMBC State Spectators Edition’ group on the BAND app to get event updates and stay connected on what's up. Sign up here:

VOLUNTEERS FOR FMBC (jpg with QR code attached)
In addition to our volunteer needs in CutTime, the Jupiter HS Band is looking for parents and students (could even be alumni) that are willing to work a volunteer shift or two at State Championships...as you can probably imagine, running FMBC State Championships does take a Village. For any shift worked, you get a meal voucher at the concession at Jupiter HS. Plus, you get to attend the rest of the show and watch the great kids on the field. See details in the attached flier, and sign up below if you are interested.
