Invitational Volunteering

Calling all Band Parents! See the link below for the Invitational volunteer sign-up sheet: Invitational 2024 - Google Sheets Please sign up for the most physical position you are comfortable with and "spread yourself around" so you can learn about different areas (note: there are (2) tabs for sign-ups, one for Friday Set-up and the other is the day of the event). Bonus: Sign up for two shifts and you'll receive a delicious meal ticket! (Just be sure to sign-up for both shifts to claim your ticket.) If there are any jobs that you think would be most suitable for you but all shifts are taken, please DO NOT remove the person signed up. Just email Beth Cowan, volunteer@parkvistaband.com and she will try to accommodate you. Veteran parents, remember, we have LOTS of new parents who would love to volunteer. Please give them the opportunity!!! Our Invitational logistics team will have the final say as to who the leads are, based on experience. If you have any family members, aunts, grandpas, etc, who would like to help out, please let Beth know. YOU should be in the RAPTOR volunteer system but if they are not, they must accompany you to the event. The Invitational Volunteer meeting will be on Thursday, October 24th at 6:30 pm in the auditorium. If you cannot attend, I will do my best to have a successful google meet this time, or you can just show up early to your shifts for a quick lesson. You will be able to complete your RAPTOR volunteer account at the meeting as well. Please remember, you MUST wear your blue Park Vista Volunteer shirt.   Good morning Band Families,  WOW what a weekend! I hope you and your kids feel so proud about this past weekend and the performance they had at Boca. The kids had a great show, judges were so complimentary and constructive, the costumes and props look fantastic, and more. This was an incredible first show (a 1st place win, Best Music, Visual, GE, and Guard did not hurt either!!!) and we are over the moon.  The work does not stop here, though. We have a big competition to look forward to this week, and a MODIFIED rehearsal schedule due to Yom Kippur (G'mar Chatima Tovah to those who observe).  Please read ALL information below, as many important and crucial details are addressed in the itinerary (and the FAQ page). PV Band Weekly Update: 10.26-11.01

  Good afternoon Band Families, Thank YOU for everything yesterday and this whole week! Directors, judges, and schools were nothing but complimentary for the way we host shows. They loved our respectfulness, our helpfulness, and how prepared we were, even with our weather situation at the end. Your kids also did a FANTASTIC job, and were the "talk of the town" in the way they conducted themselves.  That being said - we do need to wrap up some invitational items (air out tents, reorganize the connex, etc) so please see CutTime later today to volunteer tomorrow for Invitational cleanup.  It really does take a whole village to run this event, and we are PROUD to have y'all, our alumni, and our future representing us in such a positive manner.  We are hitting our final 2 weeks. PV Band Weekly Update: 9.21-9.27

Good morning band families! It's an exciting week ahead of us - first competition week! This week looks strange for our rehearsals, since there are NO sectionals or rehearsals Monday and Tuesday. We really stress (heavily) the importance of the rehearsals on Thursday and Friday to best set us up for success going into the Boca Comp. I tell our kids a lot that "practice to learn your part, rehearsal is to learn how other people's parts go with yours."  It is IMPERATIVE that our kids (and us) are thinking in 'team sport' mentality over individual interests this week, and in general.  Attached are several documents, please pursue and take note of the details.
