BOA tips and reminders

Thursday night drop-off items:
Medications in a bag, in original packaging with a photo of your student
Suitcases - unlocked
Outstanding forms (a notary will be there for financial form)
If you plan to take your child home after we are done with all performances, you MUST submit the 2360 Student release form on THURSDAY NIGHT (form attached)

You will meet your student's chaperone at the Invitational meeting tomorrow night. Please attend the meeting IN PERSON!!

Items for BUS BAG -
Band shoes, practice wear for Friday, toiletries that they need on Friday morning before school, money.

Please make sure that your kids pack TONIGHT. Students who drive to school should bring their suitcases to school tomorrow morning unless you plan to drop it off before the Invitational Meeting. The itinerary and packing list have been attached to this email.

After they perform in the morning, they will take off ALL uniform pieces. They MUST have compression on under their uniforms. They will need a pair of shorts or leggings to wear on Saturday morning.

As we are hoping to make it into finals, we anticipate many of the students will take a shower in the hotel when we return after the morning performance. We suggest packing a second set of compression, undergarments and black socks.

PLEASE BE SURE YOUR STUDENT HAS THEIR BAND SHOES. There is a large number of "loose shoes" in the band room, please have them show you their shoes tonight unless they have left them at school. If they do not have their shoes, they cannot perform.

If you have still not ordered food for after the Friday night practice, please refer to the email that was sent out on October 21st with the CULVER'S order form. The form closes at midnight tonight and money (CASH ONLY) is due no later than tomorrow after practice.

Since practice ends early tonight, please consider going to Chipotle and supporting the band - bring a friend and show the flier.
  • Wednesday, October 23 - Chipotle Dine to Donate, 5pm-9pm (flier and instructions attached)
  • Thursday, October 24 - Full Marching Band practice, 4pm-8pm
  • Thursday, October 24 - BOA luggage and medication drop off, 6-6:30pm
  • Thursday, October 24 - Invitational volunteer meeting, 6:30pm-8pm

  Good morning Band Families,  WOW what a weekend! I hope you and your kids feel so proud about this past weekend and the performance they had at Boca. The kids had a great show, judges were so complimentary and constructive, the costumes and props look fantastic, and more. This was an incredible first show (a 1st place win, Best Music, Visual, GE, and Guard did not hurt either!!!) and we are over the moon.  The work does not stop here, though. We have a big competition to look forward to this week, and a MODIFIED rehearsal schedule due to Yom Kippur (G'mar Chatima Tovah to those who observe).  Please read ALL information below, as many important and crucial details are addressed in the itinerary (and the FAQ page). PV Band Weekly Update: 10.26-11.01

  Good afternoon Band Families, Thank YOU for everything yesterday and this whole week! Directors, judges, and schools were nothing but complimentary for the way we host shows. They loved our respectfulness, our helpfulness, and how prepared we were, even with our weather situation at the end. Your kids also did a FANTASTIC job, and were the "talk of the town" in the way they conducted themselves.  That being said - we do need to wrap up some invitational items (air out tents, reorganize the connex, etc) so please see CutTime later today to volunteer tomorrow for Invitational cleanup.  It really does take a whole village to run this event, and we are PROUD to have y'all, our alumni, and our future representing us in such a positive manner.  We are hitting our final 2 weeks. PV Band Weekly Update: 9.21-9.27

Good morning band families! It's an exciting week ahead of us - first competition week! This week looks strange for our rehearsals, since there are NO sectionals or rehearsals Monday and Tuesday. We really stress (heavily) the importance of the rehearsals on Thursday and Friday to best set us up for success going into the Boca Comp. I tell our kids a lot that "practice to learn your part, rehearsal is to learn how other people's parts go with yours."  It is IMPERATIVE that our kids (and us) are thinking in 'team sport' mentality over individual interests this week, and in general.  Attached are several documents, please pursue and take note of the details.
