Weekly Update - 9.15-9.21
Good afternoon Band Families,
We had an excellent rehearsal yesterday (hope your kids are resting!) and have a lot of important events going forward! We are exactly two weeks out from our first competition, and we are READY. Please read all contents of the email below, as there are some changes in the rehearsal schedule due to Open House, as well as All-State audition times for those who are auditioning on 9.21.
As always, please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns, we are happy to help in any way we can!
Week at a Glance:
Tuesday, September 17 - Open House, No practice – Drumline performance 5:30-6:00, band polo and jeans
Wednesday, September 18 - Full Marching Band Practice, 4pm-8pm
Thursday, September 19 - Full Marching Band Practice, 4pm-8pm
Saturday, September 21 - All State Auditions (only for those who are auditioning) - Boca Middle School – TIMINGS AND LOCATIONS ATTACHED :)
Show Shirt Updates:
Show shirts are coming in this week and we will be distributing them to band members who have paid their merch fees at the end of practice on 9/19. **If you haven't paid the merch fees, they are way overdue. Please speak with the directors if there is an issue.**
We will be doing parent sales on 2 different dates. Sales are CASH ONLY, $12 per shirt.
Tuesday, Sept. 24th from 7:30-8:30pm in the parking lot while the kids are practicing/after practice
Saturday, Sept. 28th from 7:30-8:30am during rehearsal drop off before our Boca competition
If you can't make either one of these dates, you may give your child the money and they can buy them. PLEASE DO NOT PLACE MONEY IN THE SAFE FOR SHOW SHIRTS. MARJORIE WILL HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING IF YOU PAID.
There are volunteer spots available to help sell and distribute show shirts. Check CutTime to sign up and volunteer.
Volunteering:
We are now using CutTime to list volunteer needs. Please keep an eye on the events listed there and sign up to help!

The campaign closes in 2 days so there is still time to get donations if you share your student's page via text, email and on social media.
Coupon Books
You will now be credited with the FULL PROFIT for all coupon book sales to help you pay your fair share, yes, $12.50/book sold in person and $10 for those shipped to the buyer, thanks to our amazing directors for keeping us on budget!!! If you have already purchased books, you will receive the balance.

Invitational Program
Open season starts this week so ask all of your regular "haunts" for an ad. The worst they can say is no.
We will be selling the books at our invitational competition on November 2 where over 2,000 spectators and participants will be on our campus for the day. Bands are coming from Palm Beach, Broward, Miami Dade and other counties. Their band photos will be featured in the book making it attractive for their parents to purchase. This is an excellent way to market the book to companies wanting to expand their business. If you sell a full-page color ad, you will get just over $200 toward your band fees - easy money!!! Please refer to the documents sent on a previous email and in the HUB doc archive/fundraising.
Please use this google spreadsheet to see the businesses that have been solicited for ads. You can comment once you have asked for an ad and the information will be added to the sheet.

We thank the majority of students/parents who send in their food order payments. If you owe any money from previous food orders, please send cash this week in an envelope marked "dinner order". In the future, all money will be due the day after the google order closes and if not paid, your student will not be included on the order.
