Garcia competition parent drivers

 Hello parent volunteer!

You are on the list of parents who have been cleared in the raptor system.

On November 9th, we are participating in the Garcia HS band invitational competition.
In order to save lots of money, the directors have decided to have parent drivers transport our band/guard students to and from the competition rather than on buses since it is only 15 minutes away. We will still be utilizing our trailers for transport of props, large instruments and guard equipment.

Ideally, we need drivers of SUVs and minivans in order to maximize the number of students and their gear (small instruments, backpacks and water jugs) each vehicle will transport. We do not want to take advantage of the parking at Garcia as this also affects their profits. 

If you are available and willing, please let me know ASAP. You will need to complete the attached parent volunteer driver form and return it to the directors to be considered. 

The band is not allowed to pay registration fees until all the drivers are cleared.

You will be notified if you are chosen to drive.

  Good morning Band Families,  WOW what a weekend! I hope you and your kids feel so proud about this past weekend and the performance they had at Boca. The kids had a great show, judges were so complimentary and constructive, the costumes and props look fantastic, and more. This was an incredible first show (a 1st place win, Best Music, Visual, GE, and Guard did not hurt either!!!) and we are over the moon.  The work does not stop here, though. PV Band Weekly Update: 10.26-11.01

  Good afternoon Band Families, Thank YOU for everything yesterday and this whole week! Directors, judges, and schools were nothing but complimentary for the way we host shows. They loved our respectfulness, our helpfulness, and how prepared we were, even with our weather situation at the end. Your kids also did a FANTASTIC job, and were the "talk of the town" in the way they conducted themselves.  That being said - we do need to wrap up some invitational items (air out tents, reorganize the connex, etc) so please see CutTime later today to volunteer tomorrow for Invitational cleanup.  It really does take a whole village to run this event, and we are PROUD to have y'all, our alumni, and our future representing us in such a positive manner.  We are hitting our final 2 weeks. PV Band Weekly Update: 9.21-9.27

Good morning band families! It's an exciting week ahead of us - first competition week! This week looks strange for our rehearsals, since there are NO sectionals or rehearsals Monday and Tuesday. We really stress (heavily) the importance of the rehearsals on Thursday and Friday to best set us up for success going into the Boca Comp. I tell our kids a lot that "practice to learn your part, rehearsal is to learn how other people's parts go with yours."  It is IMPERATIVE that our kids (and us) are thinking in 'team sport' mentality over individual interests this week, and in general.  Attached are several documents, please pursue and take note of the details.
