PVHS MB Update - 8.25-8.31

 Good morning band families,


We are entering another light week - this is perfect to get everyone caught up and on the same page! To our newer families, please keep familiarizing yourself with our HUB and previous emails - let me know if you have any questions! 
To ALL families, gentle note about attendance that only certain absences count as excused. It is for the safety of all students on the field that if they accumulate absences and miss instruction, they will not be able to perform at games/competitions until they are caught up (but are still expected to attend). Please communicate any and all absences to the directors. 

******We will be having a parent meeting on Thursday, August 29, at 7pm in the PVHS Auditorium to cover our switch from Charms to CutTime, reminders about upcoming performances, and more!!******

Week at a Glance
Tuesday, August 27 - Full marching band practice 4pm-8pm
Wednesday, August 28 - Color Guard and Percussion practice 4pm-8pm
Thursday, August 29 - Full marching band practice 4pm-8pm

Save the Date: The annual post-football game social dinner for band and color guard STUDENTS will be held at Duffy's on September 6. More details about signing up and the pre-order process will be coming soon. In advance of the switch to Cut Time, you should log into your Charms account and screen shot your financial ledger.
We need adult apprentices to our Concessions chairperson and Co-chair for Fundraising. Previous experience is helpful but not needed. You just need a willingness to learn!!

Please make sure you have handed in all cash payments for previous dinner orders. Anyone with an outstanding balance will receive an email this week. Please remember to submit your dinner payments in a different envelope from fair share/merch payments and to always include your student's name and what the payment is for on the envelope before placing it in the band safe.
Fair share payment 1 ($200) is due at the end of this week and Merch Fees are past due!!
Avoid paying out of pocket - see details below on how to make fair share money!

2025 Save Around Coupon book flyers will be available in the band room this week. Please have your student pick one up so that you can show potential buyers the restaurant coupons that are in the book.

  Good morning Band Families,  WOW what a weekend! I hope you and your kids feel so proud about this past weekend and the performance they had at Boca. The kids had a great show, judges were so complimentary and constructive, the costumes and props look fantastic, and more. This was an incredible first show (a 1st place win, Best Music, Visual, GE, and Guard did not hurt either!!!) and we are over the moon.  The work does not stop here, though. We have a big competition to look forward to this week, and a MODIFIED rehearsal schedule due to Yom Kippur (G'mar Chatima Tovah to those who observe).  Please read ALL information below, as many important and crucial details are addressed in the itinerary (and the FAQ page). PV Band Weekly Update: 10.26-11.01

  Good afternoon Band Families, Thank YOU for everything yesterday and this whole week! Directors, judges, and schools were nothing but complimentary for the way we host shows. They loved our respectfulness, our helpfulness, and how prepared we were, even with our weather situation at the end. Your kids also did a FANTASTIC job, and were the "talk of the town" in the way they conducted themselves.  That being said - we do need to wrap up some invitational items (air out tents, reorganize the connex, etc) so please see CutTime later today to volunteer tomorrow for Invitational cleanup.  It really does take a whole village to run this event, and we are PROUD to have y'all, our alumni, and our future representing us in such a positive manner.  We are hitting our final 2 weeks. PV Band Weekly Update: 9.21-9.27

Good morning band families! It's an exciting week ahead of us - first competition week! This week looks strange for our rehearsals, since there are NO sectionals or rehearsals Monday and Tuesday. We really stress (heavily) the importance of the rehearsals on Thursday and Friday to best set us up for success going into the Boca Comp. I tell our kids a lot that "practice to learn your part, rehearsal is to learn how other people's parts go with yours."  It is IMPERATIVE that our kids (and us) are thinking in 'team sport' mentality over individual interests this week, and in general.  Attached are several documents, please pursue and take note of the details.
