August Update 8.18-8.24

We did it, first chaotic week done! This has been an incredibly busy week, and we did it! A HUGE welcome to all our new families that joined this week - it might seem like a lot, but please keep in touch and we can get you up to speed!

Week at a Glance:
Tuesday, August 20 -- No school and no band practice
Wednesday, August 21 -- Full marching band practice 4pm-8pm
Thursday, August 22 -- Full marching band practice 4pm-8pm

By now, merch fees are PAST due (207 for rookies, 87 for vets, 222 for seniors, 277 for non-senior color guard) and the first fair share payment of $200 is due. Please utilize Volunteer opportunities, coupon books and FanAngel (below) in order to reduce how much money you need to pay out of pocket. We have so many opportunities to earn fair share money quickly and easily!!! 

Fundraising Update: fundraising@parkvistaband.com
Coupon books will be available for pickup  this Wednesday, August 21st at pick up. We have set up some dates at local Publix supermarkets where you can sit and sell books. You can also request and keep 100% of any cash donations you receive. Please email if you're interested. (this is a 70/30 student/band split. You will get $8.75 per book sold)

Fan Angel emails have not been entered for most accounts yet. You are missing out on easy money. Please enter between 5-10 emails (ideally 20) by this evening. 

Flea Market - will be on September 7th, 8am-1pm. We are accepting gently used, clean items. You can also reserve your own space!

  Good morning Band Families,  WOW what a weekend! I hope you and your kids feel so proud about this past weekend and the performance they had at Boca. The kids had a great show, judges were so complimentary and constructive, the costumes and props look fantastic, and more. This was an incredible first show (a 1st place win, Best Music, Visual, GE, and Guard did not hurt either!!!) and we are over the moon.  The work does not stop here, though. We have a big competition to look forward to this week, and a MODIFIED rehearsal schedule due to Yom Kippur (G'mar Chatima Tovah to those who observe).  Please read ALL information below, as many important and crucial details are addressed in the itinerary (and the FAQ page). PV Band Weekly Update: 10.26-11.01

  Good afternoon Band Families, Thank YOU for everything yesterday and this whole week! Directors, judges, and schools were nothing but complimentary for the way we host shows. They loved our respectfulness, our helpfulness, and how prepared we were, even with our weather situation at the end. Your kids also did a FANTASTIC job, and were the "talk of the town" in the way they conducted themselves.  That being said - we do need to wrap up some invitational items (air out tents, reorganize the connex, etc) so please see CutTime later today to volunteer tomorrow for Invitational cleanup.  It really does take a whole village to run this event, and we are PROUD to have y'all, our alumni, and our future representing us in such a positive manner.  We are hitting our final 2 weeks. PV Band Weekly Update: 9.21-9.27

Good morning band families! It's an exciting week ahead of us - first competition week! This week looks strange for our rehearsals, since there are NO sectionals or rehearsals Monday and Tuesday. We really stress (heavily) the importance of the rehearsals on Thursday and Friday to best set us up for success going into the Boca Comp. I tell our kids a lot that "practice to learn your part, rehearsal is to learn how other people's parts go with yours."  It is IMPERATIVE that our kids (and us) are thinking in 'team sport' mentality over individual interests this week, and in general.  Attached are several documents, please pursue and take note of the details.
