August Update - 8.11-8.17
Good morning families,
(Twas the night before the first day of school... eek!!) We are SO excited to see your kids in a school environment tomorrow - if any of them feel scared and nervous, we got them! Come to the band room, there's always upperclassmen hanging out, and we can help anyone out!! :)
Now that school is starting: Schoolwork and academics come first! We are firmly against students using band as an excuse to not complete their schoolwork. Students that are not passing their classes at the 6-week mark, or do not have above a 2.0 GPA will talk to the directors about their plans to actively complete their schoolwork. PVHS has great lunch, after-school, and peer tutoring opportunities.
Please read the entire email below for important information. We understand the emails are cumbersome and long, but this is the most concise way to ensure everyone has all the information they need to be an active participant. As always, please reach out if you have any questions or concerns, happy to help in any way I can!

Friday's Football Game
Students report to the stadium at 3:00 for pre-game practice. Students will wear jeans and their band polo. More game attire details are available here: https://drive.google. com/file/d/ 1T3xj3ERPlq3zTxMHD7QnkymZptt0c WVG/view
Come out and join us for the 1st football game of the season and sign up to be a volunteer for the event. Please keep in mind that it is a requirement that volunteers must work a game or other campus event prior to chaperoning competitions. It is a great way to get involved and be a part of your kid's band experience.
Fair Share and Merchandise Fee - treasurer@parkvistaband.com
The first Fair Share payment of $200 was due on August 5 and the merchandise fee was due on July 22. If you have not already paid these, please do so now. Timely payments are necessary to keep the program running smoothly. Payments can be made by cash or check and put in the band room safe. Please put all payments in an envelope labeled with your child's name and what the payment is for. Please reply to the Directors to discuss payment options.
Uniforms - uniforms@ parkvistaband.com
This Saturday August 17 we will have a DRESS REHEARSAL. Students will need to WEAR the compression top and bottom they will be wearing at games and competitions so we can be sure everything fits exactly right! Compression shirts with higher necklines are not allowed. If you are ordering online place that order ASAP so you have it by Friday for the dress rehearsal Saturday.
We recommend these compression shirts and shorts:
Volunteering - volunteer@ parkvistaband.com
Check out Charms to see volunteer needs for both the football game on Friday August 16th and the 9-9 practice on August 17th. Thanks as always to all the parents that are able to come out to volunteer and make these events a success!
We are in need of one medic for the football game on Friday. Please send Allison Moyel a message in Slack or email her at district.policy@ parkvistaband.com if you are interested in being medic for our first football game.
Calling all crafters or anyone with a willingness to help celebrate our seniors! As a tradition, the band parents make our graduating seniors sashes for pep rallies and Senior Night. The sashes are created with a Cricut. If you are interested in helping out and getting to know some other band parents, please reach out to volunteer@parkvistaband.com
Everyone should have received an email if you are missing forms. Please check your email and spam for this email. If you do not receive an email, your paperwork is up to date! The paperwork deadline has passed, so please get in your forms as soon as possible. The consequence for not having all of your child's paperwork in is that students will not be able to perform at the football games or the competitions. They will be able to dress and travel with the band, but they will not be able to perform. All forms are available on the Parent Hub at the following link: https://drive.google. com/drive/folders/ 1kBz4ppo6Ggrv1OAFFy0D4W_ Zv6dWU9yx
(They are also printed and at the front of the band room!!!!!)
Please make sure that you turned in all 5 of your permission forms for competitions. There are still a lot of permission forms that are still missing!
