This Week's Events:
The annual Friends and Family Event is a fun kick off for the Marching Band Season. On Wednesday, August 7th at 7 pm, please join us as we watch the kids show us the payoff from their hard work during band camp and perform their 2024 Marching Show Juxtaposition. After the performance in the parking lot, the kids, staff, family, and friends will then be sharing a fun night of food and socializing in the Auditorium Lobby and Courtyard for the remainder of the evening. Please join us!! Cost is only $5 per person for band and guard members, and their friends and family (children under age 5 free). Please bring cash payment at the event. (Note: last week's email mentioned that the band kids would be free but due to budget considerations, we are asking for $5 for them as well)
Band Olympics is on Thursday, August 8th at the school at 5 pm. Students should plan to arrive fed as there will be no dinner service. Games are from 5-7 and other activities are after that until about 9 pm. All students should attend.
We will be looking for parent support for both events. Please sign up in Charms ASAP to help with the dinner and as chaperones for the Olympics.

The directors will soon be giving consequences to students that are missing their required paperwork. All forms are available on the Parent Hub at the following link: https://drive.google.com/ drive/folders/ 1kBz4ppo6Ggrv1OAFFy0D4W_ Zv6dWU9yx

Our first Fair Share payment ($200) is coming up. (This is NOT the Merch Fees). We will have SchoolCash available in the next week or so. Checks can be made out to Park Vista Band, or cash is acceptable. Please email Christine Finkel (treasurer) with any charms transfer requests. As always, please email the band directors with any financial questions or concerns. See directly below for 2 GREAT opportunities to offset fair share costs.

(Both documents attached)
The Fan Angel crowdsourcing fundraiser will go live this week. All the information you need is on the information sheet attached. Please set up your student's personal account and enter your email contacts ASAP. The FanAngel platform will send out the emails you have listed and even send your donors a thank you email!.
You can also share the link to your student's personal page via text and on social media.
After fees are deducted for processing the donations/credit card payments, the band will split the net profits, 60% to you and 40% to the band general fund.
If we can get full participation by Tuesday and go live on Wednesday, any money raised by Thursday will count toward your student's band olympics team.
This is one of the EASIEST fundraisers to participate in with the greatest potential financial benefit. In 2023, a single student raised over $1,000 in donations!!! Good luck!!
SaveAround Coupon Books: They're here!
You can start selling books and collecting money as soon as you receive this email.
Profits for books sold in person and online but delivered in person is $6.50 and on-line for delivery is $5.
Books will be available for pick up sometime in August. No books will be given out unless payment is received.
Book sales end December 16th.

At this point in the summer, everyone who has paid their merch fee has received their new backpack with all their items. We still have 27 people who have not paid their merch fee yet - please pay this ASAP so your student can have all the cool stuff!! We will look amazing marching into stadiums and competitions with everyone matching and looking uniform and professional!!!
As a reminder, freshmen or new members owe $207, returning members owe $87, and seniors owe $222. Please message the directors if you have any issues with payment!
Volunteer shirts are here, and will be distributed to families who have paid merch fees at friends and family night on 8/7. If you are a returning family and need a new shirt, I will have all sizes for sale as well. The price is $8 for sizes S-XL and $10 for 2XL-4XL.
Show shirts are coming!!! If you are unfamiliar, this is a shirt that has our show theme on the front and our competition schedule on the back. All performers get one as part of their merch fees (another reminder to pay those fees)! Parents and family members wear these shirts in the stands when we watch the band compete. You will definitely want one of these!
Other items coming include "bling" zip up hoodies for the band moms---these are black full zip sweatshirt jackets that say "Park Vista Band Mom" in blingy rhinestones on the back. They will be around $40 and will be for sale in the next few weeks!!!!
