Reminder on Band Camp - 6.3-6.7

 Good evening families!


This is the week! 
9-9, M-F, PVHS! Please make sure your kids get a good night's sleep, and are drinking water now! They need to eat something tomorrow morning, even if they are not "breakfast people." A granola bar, banana, something. Even our veteran members suffer when they do not take care of their bodies. They are not just musicians, they are athletes and need to rest and train like one. 

1. We! Need! Volunteers! Still!

2. Things your kids need for band camp this week: Large water bottle (1/2 gallon, we will be getting PV branded ones later), instrument (some are at PV), mouthpiece, SUNSCREEN, white shirt/black shorts/skirts/leggings (no nike pros...), a hat/sunglasses (hat is required! Protect your head!), tennis shoes (no converse, Jordan's, Sperry's, etc.), snacks, lunch/dinner: students should bring lunch, and can either bring dinner, or fill out this form! Meal Order Form

**note on lunch/dinner: Students may not leave campus during these breaks. Parents can bring food, Uber/DoorDash is permissible (but not a rehearsal excuse to leave block or be late)

3. We will begin collecting required forms next week, please be checking the HUB for any forms you might have misplaced and need, we also have extra packets in the band room. 

4. Parent communication and ✨CHARMS✨! We need to get ALL of our parents on CHARMS and Slack! The school code for CHARMS is PVPerfArts! 

5. Band parent meeting June 7, 7PM in the PVHS Auditorium! All should attend in person (to turn in forms!) or online. Link will be sent that morning. 

Gentle reminder: Thank you to those who have reached out to communicate absences and questions! Communication is key. 
It is not too late to add new families into ours! Please spread the word that finances should not be an issue, we have worked anything and everything out for 20 years! Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns - happy to help in any way! We are SO excited to see you soon!

  Good morning Band Families,  WOW what a weekend! I hope you and your kids feel so proud about this past weekend and the performance they had at Boca. The kids had a great show, judges were so complimentary and constructive, the costumes and props look fantastic, and more. This was an incredible first show (a 1st place win, Best Music, Visual, GE, and Guard did not hurt either!!!) and we are over the moon.  The work does not stop here, though. PV Band Weekly Update: 10.26-11.01

  Good afternoon Band Families, Thank YOU for everything yesterday and this whole week! Directors, judges, and schools were nothing but complimentary for the way we host shows. They loved our respectfulness, our helpfulness, and how prepared we were, even with our weather situation at the end. Your kids also did a FANTASTIC job, and were the "talk of the town" in the way they conducted themselves.  That being said - we do need to wrap up some invitational items (air out tents, reorganize the connex, etc) so please see CutTime later today to volunteer tomorrow for Invitational cleanup.  It really does take a whole village to run this event, and we are PROUD to have y'all, our alumni, and our future representing us in such a positive manner.  We are hitting our final 2 weeks. PV Band Weekly Update: 9.21-9.27

Good morning band families! It's an exciting week ahead of us - first competition week! This week looks strange for our rehearsals, since there are NO sectionals or rehearsals Monday and Tuesday. We really stress (heavily) the importance of the rehearsals on Thursday and Friday to best set us up for success going into the Boca Comp. I tell our kids a lot that "practice to learn your part, rehearsal is to learn how other people's parts go with yours."  It is IMPERATIVE that our kids (and us) are thinking in 'team sport' mentality over individual interests this week, and in general.  Attached are several documents, please pursue and take note of the details.
