June Marching Camp

 Good morning band families, 


Happy last day of school! We are happy to take the first week of your summer break (June 3-7, 9AM-9PM) to keep your kids occupied and in the sun. :) 
Lots of information, none of it in any particular order, but please read through this! (hint hint, most of this is how to get involved in addition to the kids!)

1. We! Need! Volunteers! All and Any!!! Please sign up to help in any way, no job is too small. Several things to help with here:
Parent Potluck🍲 (attend! Socialize! It will be fun!) 
Fruit donations🍇
Fruit cutting,serving and clean up🍉🔪
Dinner pickup and delivery🛻
Cool cloths (because Florida is HOT! Keep your kids cool😎)

2. Things your kids need for band camp next week: Large water bottle (1/2 gallon, we will be getting PV branded ones later), instrument (some are at PV), mouthpiece, SUNSCREEN, white shirt/black shorts/skirts/leggings (no nike pros...), a hat/sunglasses (hat is required! Protect your head!), tennis shoes (no converse, Jordan's, Sperry's, etc.), snacks, lunch/dinner: students should bring lunch, and can either bring dinner, or fill out this form! Meal Order Form
**note on lunch/dinner: Students may not leave campus during these breaks. Parents can bring food, Uber/DoorDash is permissible (but not a rehearsal excuse to leave block or be late), but for safety reasons, no students are allowed to drive off campus for lunch/dinner. Please utilize the form above for easy and quick dinner solutions, it saves us a lot of time and safety concerns!!**

3. We will begin collecting required forms next week, please be checking the HUB for any forms you might have misplaced and need, we also have extra packets in the band room. 

4. Parent communication and ✨CHARMS✨! We need to get ALL of our parents on CHARMS and Slack! What is Charms? Charms is the way we track financial info, volunteering opportunities (especially FLA Live), and more! The quicker we all have accounts, the easier it is! Please follow the instructions attached to this email to create a CHARMS account. CHARMS also has the ability to send out texts (director perspective), and we will be utilizing that function more this year. All new students have already been uploaded, so you should be good to create an account. The school code for CHARMS is PVPerfArts!

5. Band parent meeting June 7, 7PM in the PVHS Auditorium! We will recap last meeting, finish up parent board nominations/elections, and foreshadow what is coming up for the rest of the summer and beyond. 

Another large email later... final thing! It is not too late to add new families into ours! Please spread the word that finances should not be an issue, we have worked anything and everything out for 20 years! Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns - happy to help in any way! We are SO excited to get the ball rolling on this new year.
