PVHS Marching Band Weekly Comms 08-09-23 - LOTS of Info

Hello Band Family!

First and foremost, a big THANK YOU to all of you that showed up for your performers on Friends & Family Night.  The kids may not express their appreciation, but we promise, it is there. :) Also, a HUGE thank you to all of our volunteers that made the dinner happen - from set-up to clean-up, you are appreciated more than you know and your above-and-beyond efforts did not go unnoticed.   Although we had to "pivot" some plans due to unforeseen circumstances, it was an overall success! So grateful it did not rain!

Please remember to thank our community supporters who donated some of the most delicious food for us to indulge in: Texas Roadhouse, Yardhouse, Arriabattas, Chris' Taverna and AJ's Sports Grill.  

Secondly, welcome to the 2023-2024 school year!  There will NOT be any practices this week once school starts. but they will resume next week.  The weekly schedule is attached so you can download and keep on your desktop or make notations in your personal calendar, whatever helps you stay organized and on top of it.  

PLEASE, now that school is in session and we have many extracurricular activities going on, it is VERY important you try to follow the parking lot directional roadmap. Also attached.  This is for the safety of our kids.  Yes, other programs may not be following protocol but God forbid if anything happens, it will not be because of our group, compromising our image/reputation and program.

  Good morning Band Families,  WOW what a weekend! I hope you and your kids feel so proud about this past weekend and the performance they had at Boca. The kids had a great show, judges were so complimentary and constructive, the costumes and props look fantastic, and more. This was an incredible first show (a 1st place win, Best Music, Visual, GE, and Guard did not hurt either!!!) and we are over the moon.  The work does not stop here, though. We have a big competition to look forward to this week, and a MODIFIED rehearsal schedule due to Yom Kippur (G'mar Chatima Tovah to those who observe).  Please read ALL information below, as many important and crucial details are addressed in the itinerary (and the FAQ page). PV Band Weekly Update: 10.26-11.01

  Good afternoon Band Families, Thank YOU for everything yesterday and this whole week! Directors, judges, and schools were nothing but complimentary for the way we host shows. They loved our respectfulness, our helpfulness, and how prepared we were, even with our weather situation at the end. Your kids also did a FANTASTIC job, and were the "talk of the town" in the way they conducted themselves.  That being said - we do need to wrap up some invitational items (air out tents, reorganize the connex, etc) so please see CutTime later today to volunteer tomorrow for Invitational cleanup.  It really does take a whole village to run this event, and we are PROUD to have y'all, our alumni, and our future representing us in such a positive manner.  We are hitting our final 2 weeks. PV Band Weekly Update: 9.21-9.27

Good morning band families! It's an exciting week ahead of us - first competition week! This week looks strange for our rehearsals, since there are NO sectionals or rehearsals Monday and Tuesday. We really stress (heavily) the importance of the rehearsals on Thursday and Friday to best set us up for success going into the Boca Comp. I tell our kids a lot that "practice to learn your part, rehearsal is to learn how other people's parts go with yours."  It is IMPERATIVE that our kids (and us) are thinking in 'team sport' mentality over individual interests this week, and in general.  Attached are several documents, please pursue and take note of the details.
