Band Parent Leadership and Season Schedule

Good afternoon band families,

Couple of points of note:

1.) Attached is the season schedule, of course timings will be updated but please make note of the dates that our events are occurring. All field trip forms will be submitted this week for admin approval, so it is with my hope that you should have all our field trip permissions by summer band! 

2.) Please help me welcome in the 2023 Band Parent Leadership Team! This vote was:
- Decided by you all and was a holistic representation of the group, and discussed with PV administration
- Not called unless there was an actual margin (as in... anything less than a 15% margin was not a called decided vote) 

3.) All parents (yes, ALL!!) are invited to be a part of each committee, offer your talents elsewhere, and help the band in any way you desire! The "leadership" are parent representatives who speak for you all as constituents are the voice to speak up in leadership meetings. Reminder that the Park Vista Bands is NOT a 501 (c)(3) non-profit booster club. Parents do not reserve the right to make executive program, curricular, financial, or instructional decisions. Parent Leadership is for pure involvement, serving our students, and enhancement of holistic program endeavors, and is absolutely not meant to put down, discourage, form cliques, or discriminate against any parent or student of the Park Vista Bands. We look forward to a great year, but we can only do it with all of your help and support in this band family. 

4.) We are still adding to the leadership team! Let me know if you want to volunteer for a position (Treasurer or Volunteer Coordinator)!

  Good morning Band Families,  WOW what a weekend! I hope you and your kids feel so proud about this past weekend and the performance they had at Boca. The kids had a great show, judges were so complimentary and constructive, the costumes and props look fantastic, and more. This was an incredible first show (a 1st place win, Best Music, Visual, GE, and Guard did not hurt either!!!) and we are over the moon.  The work does not stop here, though. We have a big competition to look forward to this week, and a MODIFIED rehearsal schedule due to Yom Kippur (G'mar Chatima Tovah to those who observe).  Please read ALL information below, as many important and crucial details are addressed in the itinerary (and the FAQ page). PV Band Weekly Update: 10.26-11.01

  Good afternoon Band Families, Thank YOU for everything yesterday and this whole week! Directors, judges, and schools were nothing but complimentary for the way we host shows. They loved our respectfulness, our helpfulness, and how prepared we were, even with our weather situation at the end. Your kids also did a FANTASTIC job, and were the "talk of the town" in the way they conducted themselves.  That being said - we do need to wrap up some invitational items (air out tents, reorganize the connex, etc) so please see CutTime later today to volunteer tomorrow for Invitational cleanup.  It really does take a whole village to run this event, and we are PROUD to have y'all, our alumni, and our future representing us in such a positive manner.  We are hitting our final 2 weeks. PV Band Weekly Update: 9.21-9.27

Good morning band families! It's an exciting week ahead of us - first competition week! This week looks strange for our rehearsals, since there are NO sectionals or rehearsals Monday and Tuesday. We really stress (heavily) the importance of the rehearsals on Thursday and Friday to best set us up for success going into the Boca Comp. I tell our kids a lot that "practice to learn your part, rehearsal is to learn how other people's parts go with yours."  It is IMPERATIVE that our kids (and us) are thinking in 'team sport' mentality over individual interests this week, and in general.  Attached are several documents, please pursue and take note of the details.
